$200 for CRT!!!!! My friend went crazy!

I have eaten at the castle for breakfast twice - back in the days when it was somewhat reasonably priced. That was before they required you to buy an expensive photo package. It's no one else's business how you spend your vacation dollars. However, if the $200 meal for 4 is for breakfast, then I'm in agreement with the OP's friend!

**Edited to add - after looking at the menus, this must be the $40.99 dinner, plus tax and tip. That's at least a better value than $33.99 for breakfast. Enjoy!

TOTALLY 100% WORTH EVERY BIT of the $$$$. We just went to WDW this past May 08 for our 1st WDW vacation with our kids and our breakfast at the CRT was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of our trip I mean you walk into the castle and get your photo taken with Cinderella which is presented while you eat and it is beautifully packaged. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!!!!! All you can eat of scrambled eggs, the crispiest bacon, sausage links, potatoes, all kinds of fruit, pastries, coffee, tea, juice and the DELICIOUS blueberry cream cheese filled puffed french toast-YUMMO!!! We got to see Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine. To see all these princesses and get your pics taken and autographs and upclose personal attention with them was sooooooo worth it! The whole atmosphere and being called my lady and my lord by the waiters and waitresses and sitting inside the castle with all the stained glass, PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you go to Disney, immerse in the MAGIC because that is what Disney is all about MAGIC Leaving everything else in the real world behind and ENJOYING FANTASY. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRT & 1900 PARK FARE WERE BOTH AWESOME! We did both and they both were equally WONDERFUL and worth every penny, along with the 1900 Park Fare breakfast and Chef Mickey's. We enjoyed all of them and they were all worth the money!

Different people value different things. I enjoyed the character breakfast at the castle in 1997 and 2001. Would I pay $33.99/pp for it now? Probably not, but I'd pay $18.99 for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. I might pay $40.99 for dinner at CRT and use my 20% Disney Dining Experience discount. I didn't care for dinner at Chef Mickey's and have no desire to return.

I am the OP and it is for dinner. We have ressies for 5:30pm and thought the view would be beautiful of all the Christmas lights if we are lucky enough to get a window seat. We've done breakfast and lunch at the castle before, but never dinner. We've always loved the food and service...the picture will be an added bonus. Would I ever pay $200 here in little WV?......NO WAY, but come on.....we're gonna be at WDW!

I definitly agree with the OP. My parents raised me to where if you are on vacation you should ENJOY it because you don't get to do it everyday. If that means splurging on a $200 meal at the castle I say go for it. I don't think I would do it everytime I went to Disney, but I'd do it once just because it is "Cinderella's Castle."

And last October I went to Six Flags. It was me, DBF, My sister, her DS8, and our nephew9. My sister, DBF, and I all had cheeseburgers and fries and the two kids split chicken strips and fries. With drinks it costed us over $80. and this was CS. So what you get for your money is DEFINITLY worth it. Considering the food we got wasn't even as good as Mcdonalds.

Generally, food Disney prices are pretty reasonable. CRT is very expensive for breakfast, but its also a very in demand thing - Disney is charging what the market will bear and there are plenty of people who are willing to pay that (not me, but obviously you). And its more than breakfast, its breakfast and photos with CINDERELLA. I think the price increases at Le Cellier are justified more from the popularity of the restaurant than the quality and quantity of food.

I was just talking to a very good friend of mine and she nearly passed out when I told her that we are eating at CRT and the cost for 4 of us will be a little over $200.

1) I agree with your friend.
2) It is just too much for what you get, or rather don't get.
3) And, yes, I have eaten in the Castle.

I agree with the people who say Six Flags is out of control! I go maybe once a year, and it's insane. Luckily, the one near me allows reentry and has a fun little ice cream stand across the street that has burgers and hotdogs. We always duck out and go there, then go back to the park. They're super strict about bringing anything in too. Not a big six flags fan, we mostly just go if we get cheap tickets and want a day out.

I'm just wondering what she ate for $30 at Bush Gardens Must have been 3 orders of churros and a couple of sodas
We used to have season passes at BG and while they don't have some of the "signature" restaurants the Disney has, they aren't cheap.

About the only time we break $10.00 per person is when I can't resist a big cup of World Select. Other times, we usually average about $9.00 per person for lunch, and that's at the Desert Grill, Crown Colony or Zambia Smokehouse.

I can't say I do. I don't tell people what I spend on anything unless they are specifically asking me what my experience was and are considering it for themselves.

I have helped quite a few friends plan Disney vacations and they never seem shocked by the prices. Everybody who has heard of WDW knows it is an expensive vacation.
