I live in Orlando for 4 years-moving down from Mass in '04. I just brought down the basics and started over. Just by the nature of the city (people always moving in and out and around), I was able to get everything such as furniture and essentials for close to nothing. I lived in two apartments by Universal both of which were nice and reasonable. I would be more then happy to give you info on those.
I went down without a job (much to the horror of my parents). I had just completed the WDW college program so I figured I would just be fine..I would just got back to Disney. I ended up with a 2-day a week job at Disney b/c thats all they could give me at the time. After a few job fairs, I landed a second job as a concierge for Universal. I went down there to work at one place and ended up somewhere different! Just keep your options open-and you'll be just fine!
It was an amazing 4 yrs and something that I'm so glad I experienced!
