20 Years of Dreams - New Commemorative DLP Book

Good question re Shareholder discount - would like to know too!

I read that AP discount cannot be used on this - apparently you can't use it on books? :confused3 But, not sure about Shareholders discount....

I brought my copy on the 23rd at The Storybook Store and was told there was no discount being offered at all on it (tried to use my shareholders card...) - was told that sometimes with exclusive edition items this sort of thing happens.

It's a fantastic book, if Sketch to Reality was your kind of book, 20 years of magic basically tells you how everything turned out after they built it. Some neat concept art and discussion on things like how much of the original 1992 Studios concept made it to the 2003 park ect. Lots of great pictures and stories. IMO the best of the 20th merch because it actually looks at the parks history and digs a little deeper into the post-opening history, which tends to get buried under all the negative stories of those years.

plus the exchange rate is the best it's been for nearly two years.

Yes, just got a great price on eurors today and also decided to may our shuttle transfer now by paypal, as we got a brilliant conversion rate :thumbsup2

Hope to buy one of these books in just over a week's time when we're there. I'll be making it my first purchase :goodvibes

This is just a thought (so I'm not 100% sure it will work), but if you're worried about your card details going "walking", then you could try putting some money onto one of the disposable travel cards.

These should have a card number etc, so you should be able to use it to pay while also knowing that the worst case scenario is losing the amount of money that you've loaded onto the card.

My book has come!!

I received notification yesterday that it was on its way then when I got home from work today it had been delivered. :thumbsup2

As it's my birthday present and it's all sealed up I think I'll just have to be patient and wait :headache: (only got to wait a couple of weeks) but it looks lovely.

My only niggle is that I ordered two ..... and was quoted postage for two ..... but they've only sent (and invoiced) for one. I've emailed about this as the second is for my eldest DD for Christmas so no urgency but it's a bit annoying that this has happened. Knowing my luck I'll end up with three! :rotfl:

Finaly received my copy yesturday. DHL had gone to the wrong address twice. :confused3

I had a quick flick through last night and it's a lovely book, with lots of fantastic photos and concept art. It gives a very good history of the resort warts and all. They even included the disasters too - the fire at Sequoia Lodge and the huge storm that closed the park in 1999.

Going to have a good read of it tonight.

I got mine at the park last week :goodvibes Purchased from the Storybook store (seemed like the obvious place) and I noticed it in almost all stores throughout the park. An unsealed copy sits at the till point, and if you want one they get it fromt the back, sealed.

It's a lovely book. Really nice to see different stories/themes every year and the concept art too. Very happy with my purchase :)

For anyone wanting a closer look I did a video looking at the book here. It's pricey, but worth the money - absolutely stunning photographs and so comprehensive.

Received DD's book yesterday. Got to say I'm impressed with the mail order service - they've sent the second book out straight away and charged a reduced amount for shipping. :thumbsup2

I've been very good and I still haven't peeked at it - not even at Steve's ^ ^ video. :rotfl:

Including shipping, I've been quoted $95 for this book. Anyone that already has it, does that amount seem worth the price? I already own "From Sketch to Reality". Thanks!

I paid £92 for two books so that does seem about right, I guess you're paying a bit more because you're in the US (?) and the shipping will be more expensive than to the UK. Also the euro/sterling exchange rate is pretty good for us at the moment.

Personally I'm really pleased with the book and think it's a great companion piece to From a Sketch to Reality. There's no denying it's a lot of money but the way I look at it I would spend far more than that on a meal out but have nothing to show for it afterwards.

I love this logic :lmao: I may have to mentally revise this sentence to justify future purchases :rotfl::rotfl:

Shipping costs to the US are atrocious. They charge like three times as much as within Europe.
