20% Discount For Fall 2016 Campsites Released

I clicked around changing the dates and it keeps saying
  • Sorry, we could not find the offer you were looking for.

I chatted with Disney and they basically said "the Special Offer must be already sold out".
So- gosh...how many discounted campsites did they offer-?!

I think this is why they are making people cancel their reservations and re-booking when they try to go for it. Because so many people advance book in anticipation of the FD, then when it gets announced, they "Pounce" to grab up the FD offer. Worse yet is if Disney changes the "Historical Dates" and they miss it with their reservations, they get mad about it.

If I can get the FD and it makes sense, I do, but otherwise, I don't book my trip in anticipation of the offer.

I would also have to push our trip back almost 2.5 weeks, which puts me at 30 weeks pregnant, so I think the extra weight I will be carrying would nullify the $100 I would save.

I noticed the discounts and made some reservations(9/16-10/2)...have not been to the Fort in over 20 year's so I'm sure everything will look somewhat different. Will probably spend two prior and 3 weeks after the Fort at Thousand Trail's Orlando. Thinking we should get annual pass'es so that we don't have to rush through things..thoughts??

Sounds like a great plan!

We are planning a couple of trips this year. (August and again in November.)

In August, it's just DW, myself and DD11. In November, it will be DW, myself, DD11 and DD19 with BF21. So we are looking at the AP for Me, DW and DD11 and then adding another trip in April 2017. ( I think she already has it booked too).

DD19 is bummed because she can't go on all the trips, but as she keeps reminding us (any with kids that age will relate, I am sure) "She's an Adult Now" so she has those "Adult" responsibilities (work, college, etc...) and Mom and Dad can't continue to pay for THEIR adult pleasures, be it the Cell Phone, the car or a trip to WDW!

Thank you Bama Ed. We made our reservation last fall before we left. Before we checked out they put a flier out stating if we booked before leaving we would get a 20% discount, however, when i did book they said it only applied to the cabins. I just got off the phone with a CM and received the discount. Saved us about $170 on a nine day stay. So, Thanks again.

Just reread my previous post which may have been a little confusing. We are not staying in the cabins and the discount has been applied to our campsite.

Good for you!

Yeah, the bounce-back (BB) fliers have never applied to a campsite as far as I've heard, only for hotel rooms on property (which the cabins sorta are). Seems kinda silly but as it's been said here repeatedly, most times of the year campsites don't need a discount to get people to the Fort.

There's a number of folks saving money with this offer. :cool1:

Bama Ed

SWEET! I called in and the CSR was able to apply the discount. It saved us $98!
That should get us all breakfast at TE at least once :)

Thanks Ed

20% discount for campsites at Fort Wilderness "most nights" between Aug 1 and Nov 5.

1) Just shows how badly the new prices at WDW are affecting attendance and ressies.
2) Rooms and attendance are down, but sales are up, as people are spending more per-person.

And that's exactly what they want! Less crowd, less services rendered = lower overhead and more profit.

That's only true in the short term and while spending per person remains higher. That said, however, if the services rendered is lower, eventually the customers will realize that they are getting LESS for their money and stop spending as much and thus, profits will fall.

I agree completely. But my point about less services wasn't meant as less services per person... just less people using less services if that makes sense. Either way, if they are going to charge so much more, we should GET a lot more for our money.

Interesting. Prices probably went up because of all those renovations. Saw them hauling off some cabins a few weeks ago.

They were hauling the cabins away because they are converting the one loop back into regular (or rather preferred) campsites. Apparently the demand for the cabins isn't as great but the demand for campsites is HUGE.

Business decision to maximize revenue. Can't blame a business for that.

All I know is that I can't get reservations for any weekend October through December at any rate. #bummed
