I notice cash back for tickets on Orbitz today is 20%:scared1:. Incredible deal if it's actually for real. Has anyone had recent experience with buying tickets through them and actually getting 20% back?

Wanting to know this too. I have read that people have used it and it has worked well for WDW tickets. I need to get our DL tickets and this would be a good deal for us. But wondered just how it works!

I just purchased 5 five day hoppers (gulp!). I'll be watching my ebates account like a hawk and I'll report back. The 10% cash back deal has been pretty standard lately, but I couldn't pass up 20%. Fingers crossed that it posts quickly!

I hope they still have this going on Friday when I order my stuff...if so I am ordering my character meals and PH from them!! they also have 3 & 4 day PH with one day free!!

It says that you get 20% cash back for "Activity Reservations," and DL tickets are under activities, so it seems to me tickets would qualify for the full 20%. Seems like an amazing deal.

I know and the end date isn't until March 3rd so I should be able to get that Friday...If I figured correctly..i will get $270 back if I get the 4 day PH and 8 character meals (we will be doing 2 different meals and I hope it won't mess it up) I am really excited!! That will pay for our medieval times dinner plus still have another 100 left over!!

How can you tell what is an activities reservation vs activities package? The second is only a 2% rebate vs 20% for the first.

Also don't forget you won't get the rebates until May ;-)

Edited: the character meals are labeled a "dining package" in the activities section so be prepared they may only get you 2% ?

In the fine print of the ebates page it states "Cash Back may not appear in your Ebates account until up to 40 days after travel has been completed." So I doubt the update will be made this week.

I didn't know about the not getting the ebates right now :( that kinda sucks but Im still gonna give it a try...its still a little cheaper for me

According to their website, they send them out quarterly. I'm sure it cuts down on their administrative and office supply budget that way ;-)

Others who have posted on threads about this topic were able to see their cash back post before 40 days after travel because tickets are a non-refundable purchase. Most of those who didn't see it post were able to contact Ebates through facebook and get it resolved.

Regarding the difference between activities and activity package, I posted this on the other thread...

I really don't know the difference, but the tickets are listed under activities on Orbitz site. When I was on the check out page there was a "view details" tab next to the dollar amount of my total. I clicked it and a bubble popped up next to the amount that said "activities." I saved a screen shot of that on the checkout page as well as everything on the ebates site just in case of any trouble.

Thanks for the info re the 40 day wait.
Trying to decide whether we want these, or want to stick with the $129 3 day military tickets. I realllly like the idea of 5 day hoppers, and we got an unexpected tax return this year because of several new deductions, so I may go for it!

which if I don't have to wait the 40 days after travel may would still be fine because our trip is not until July and maybe between now and then I can remember to use ebates more and get even more back :)

I need 7 tickets total and it only allows 4 at a time. I'm guessing just make 2 purchases? Or has someone bought more than 4 at a time.? Thanks

I am confused about the dates. Our plans are not set in stone. We plan to visit in July, but bc of my son's health condition it could change. If I put that we are visiting in July, but we don't end up visiting during that time will we lose the tickets? When would the tickets expire?

I purchased 4 in one transaction, logged completely out of Orbitz and Ebates, then logged back in with a new ebates tracking number and purchased one more ticket.

The first transaction was large enough that I immediately got a fraud prevention email from my bank and had to call and verify the purchase before I could log back in and make the second transaction. But, I'm sure that process varies from bank to bank.

LOL I just emailed my bank to let them know I will be making a large purchase on Friday for that reason...IDK if it will prevent it or not.

After months of planning, I finally went for it and bought my family's tickets. We were going to do the 3 day military park hoppers but I splurged on the 5 day hoppers. I'm thrilled bc I was getting concerned about how to cram everything into 3 days. I also pre-paid for our two character dining meals by getting the orbitz vouchers--$117 for each meal, with 20% cash back=93.60, including gratuity and tax. That doesn't seem to save us a ton but it's essentially like getting the meals tax and gratuity free.
I'm offsetting the extra $$ by taking one night off our PP reservation; we're heading to San Diego after DL so we'll just drive down after we finish our last park day. Not that San Diego hotels are a bargain, but they are compared to staying on-site, club level, during spring break :)
Thanks for the heads up! So glad I checked the board today.

I have ebates, and had no idea i could get tickets from orbits though ebates i thought orbits was only good for hotels lol. I will need look at it but i'm not buying them for a while.
