20 adult diners sharing dxdp credits from one room

Are these boards sanctioned by Disney? I find it strange that a moderator seems to encourage behavior which is against the policy written in dining plan that kids must order from kids meal. I realize there are loopholes and ways to get around most anything but I'm surprised moderators would be pushing to circumvent the rules.

I find it hard to finger wag too much here, as I would be 100% shocked to find out there are not infinitely more people who go home with unused credits and who do not use credits to their full value, than people who use the plan like OP wants to. Not to mention, many people don’t even have the option of sharing the credits as you need a pretty specific situation to make it work. I’m not concerned about Disney, they could stop it if they wanted.

If people aren’t lying to get what they want and are using real credits the way Disney allows them to, it’s not any of our problems.

With the price of food in the world, guests should find every loophole and exploit it to the fullest. No 10 yo should be charged $50 for a meal they will pick at. Yeah yeah, it’s their choice blah blah. It’s still expats all get out and many aren’t worth it.

But thousands of families ARE charged adult prices for their 10 year old for food they may pick at. It is just the lucky ones who travel with kids under 10 who get to use kids' credits for adult meals at kids prices, both qs and ts. Not fair. It's almost as if one is subsidising the other. So it creates the scenario where large groups put all the kids in one room with an adult or leave adults off the reservation only to use kids' credits for drastically reduced meals. I agree with you that Disney allows this and is obviously not losing money with these "loopholes" because for every adult meal at kid pricing they give out they know they will be selling who knows how many adult ddp to that 10 year old with no younger kids in the group to make up for it. And hardly any 10-12 year old is going to eat as much as an adult at a buffet or all you care to eat type restaurant! But they are paying exactly the same and without an alcoholic drink which adults can get!

Disney has had years to undo pooling of credits. Do you really think they are losing money? Lol, I am sure they are not

In order to separate credits to child and adult they first have to update the qs credits. This is, I believe, the driver to shared credits. Adult ts meals are already child and adukt

But think about it, what is their motivation? When folks buy the dxdp every single morsel if food and drink is now dedicated to onsite Disney expenditures. Every single one. Which is the ideal Disney goal. Stay onsite, use our transportation m buy our food, drink our drinks.

There are tons of credits left on the table every day. For every expert, there are more novices. That don’t know how to maximize the plan. That knows you can downgrade qs to snacks. That you can load up and take things hime

What the OO planned is done every single day. She was just planning it on a larger scale and at one meal. Let’s face it, every judgy mcjudgeface woukdnt blink and eye if they planned to include mom or dad or cousin boufus in their dinner plans.

I feel that Disney loosened their restrictions in order to be sure people purchased the plans. If families were afraid that they would lose money or would not need all their credits they simply paid OOP. Look at the discussions here on this board alone? It was not too long ago that children had to order off of the children's menu and you could not order more meals than the number of people on the package. If Disney chose not to allow any of these practices they would be shut down immediately.

No one is encouraging anyone to break Disney policy. The brochure has changed the language and Disney has actually responded via email that this practice is allowed contingent upon individual restaurant policy.

But they are lying if the dining plan rules say kids must order off the kids menu, yet they are buying a child's dining plan and using it for adults in the party at less than half the cost.

People act like Disney will take the loss - no, they will raise prices on menu items or dining plans to make up the difference. I always laugh when someone who would never take from a neighbor think it's okay to steal from a company since they believe they make enough money. Well, they will just up costs to absorb when people shoplift or "use a loophole". As usual the honest, rule-abiding consumer is the one who loses since they used the dining plan or shopped at a store the way it was intended and paid full price for the item. So they will pay for the adult price for the plan yet they will still pay an increase in park admission, food items or whatever else WDW is upping the price on to make up the loss. So it kind of is our business.

Lying is saying a 10 year old is 8 to pay child’s price, or a 3 year old is 2 to eat for free. I don’t think using a child’s credit on an adult meal and being upfront about it is lying. It’s doing something Disney lets you do. If they wanted to stop that behaviour they would.

The customer is doing nothing shady or deceitful in these cases. I don’t think it’s comparable to shoplifting or stealing.
