2 yr old riding on attractions

Ok so my 2 yr old son is big for his age. My question is if he reaches the required height will he still be able to get on the ride, even though he is only 2?? Right now he is 39 inches and we are planning a trip for the end of April, so I would guess he would be just at the 40 inch level when we go, which makes him able to ride most of the attractions.

Please let me know what you have encountered on this matter as my dh is anxious for my son to ride the attractions with him!!

My kids are 5 and 2. Everytime I have taken them they have acted differently to rides that they have been on numerous times. Ages and Stages I guess. I would suggest starting out on age appropriate rides first. Then maybe upgrade to the barnstormer if he seems to be taking the rides well. Then if he manages that, consider the "adult" rides.

I agreee with Npealer, it depends on the child. Will Disney stop you if he is tall enough...No. You have to know your own child. Start at the easier rides and see how it goes.

When my DS was 2 he also was tall enough for the 40'' rides. He loved them!!! We really got our money's worth on that trip LOL. He was free to get in, free to eat at many places and he was getting the benefit of the big rides. He's been a thrill ride junkie ever since.

But I've seen other older kids have a meltdown on It's a Small World. DS we were able to predict would do well on the big rides, but our DD we're not to sure about. She's not tall enough yet so we have some time before that comes up again.

I have a tall DS too. We were at WDW just before he turned 3 and he was 40". He rode Splash Mountain and BTMRR no problems. He isn't as big of a thrill ride lover as his sister, but he had fun on those.

He may be tall enough but is he mature enough to follow the directions? Will he try to get off if he gets scared ? I think it is up to the parents to judge if their child can handle it and these are the things that would scare me.
