2 yr old and southwest

When ds7 was 18 mos. we flew with him on our laps and how crazy were we? Never would recommend it. He squirmed so much and went from me to dh's lap back and forth. Our older ds was almost 5 at the time and while he was in the bathroom little ds sat in the empty seat so good and loved it. (looked out the window) That's what we get for trying to save $.

My neice will be just under 2 when we go in Nov. so is everyone saying that she doesn't get a seat/car seat she just sits on mom and dad's lap???:confused3

In Sept, DS was 21 mos. He could have flown as a lap child, but I just bought him a ticket and brought his car seat. It made for a much more pleasant flight for all on the plane. He fell asleep as we taxied and woke up as the plane pulled up to the gate at MCO! :thumbsup2

Plus, I have a HUGE flying phobia. Having him in the carseat was good for my psyche, too. I knew he was as safe as could be, so it made me feel better. :)

Thank you everyone for your insight. I knew my friends on DIS would fill me in. Thanks. I'll let my sister know. It is her first time flying with kids. I think it might be saner if we booked a seat for the baby.:rotfl2:
