Since we don't have to buy DD2 a park ticket, what do we do about her eating with us when we're on the plan? :confused3

she eats off your plate at TS and CS resturants and can eat off her own plate at most buffets. I say most because there have been posts about people being told that their under 3 child must "share" the meal and doesn't get their own plate. I think thats pretty rare. If she is a big eater, you can pay OOP for a kids meal.

She eats for free at buffets and family style restaurants. At regular, sit down TS restaurants and CS restaurants, if you want a separate kid's meal for her, you'll have to pay OOP for it. Or she can share off your plates. Or some people have "upgraded" their 2 YO's to 3 YO's just to get the dining plan for them. Of course, you'd have to buy her a park ticket, and pay for the dining plan for her (unless you're going during free dining). Good luck!

Ok, seriously now. The DDP is for ages 3 and up. Under 3 is free. 2 year olds do not eat as much as a 3 or 4 year old would. So there should be no problem sharing your food with your 2 year old. Besides, I think it's a great way to find out what your child likes and dislikes.

OOP kids meals are pretty cheap - $4 - $5.

You can always ask for an extra side of something with your meal - that may be cheaper (and more toddler-friendly).

You can eat at buffets, where she'd get her fill of whatever she wanted.

But we just share - the food is SO good and the decisions are so hard to make that DH and I still share most of the time! (ie. "OMG this is SO good - you have to try a bite" or "wow - that looks REALLY good - want to switch?") :)

We get dessert for the table, too - each of us samples a little bit of each thing. :) It's more fun that way.

Another idea - if you have a couple kids - we will split the kid-friendly entree if we want something they don't care for, then share other things with them, too.

For example, say we're at Coral Reef and my 4 year old wants mac & cheese. She eats about four noodles. ;) DH and I want shellfish - and they can't have it. So, I'll give the four year old some of my appetizer or salad, and then they'll split the macaroni and cheese. :D

We do this all the time with the kids - divvying up kids' meals. If you ask nicely, sometimes they'll even split it in the kitchen so that the kids get their own plates and don't realizing they are "sharing" - but we have REALLY light eaters and at WDW you can't really save leftovers, so it works great.
