This is probably really obvious and I'm missing it, but I keep reading the dining plans for kids are ages 3-10. So what about an almost 2 year old (technically will still be 1)? He will need to eat too. Do they eat free?

Kids under 3 eat off your plate for free. So, at all-you-can-eat places, they effectively eat for free. And most meals are big enough to share. But if you your a meal for you child, you'll need to pay for it.

This is what we did for DD last year...

Plan on doing this also with our little one who will be 1 and a half. Have lots of character meals lined up

Five of the six TS restaurants we ate at were AYCE and my 2.5 ate for free. At the other, he and his brother shared a kid's meal.

Anything you order for the baby, you will pay for. You might get a plate of noodles or small beverage for free, but they might also charge you.

When we've gone with ones that little, they got their own plate free at buffets. We were prepared to either share from our own plate or pay for a side at menu TS places. However, I believe we very rarely actually had to pay for what we ordered. I'm pretty sure we never paid for drinks (although we didn't count on this, it always happened) and we were given a kid's meal at CRT for the 2 year old. Places like 50’S prime time, Tony's Town Square, Boatwrights, the TS in Mexico, Rose & Crown all didn't charge us for the side of veggies or potatoes that we ordered to supplement our sharing. We just tipped generously for these kindnesses.
