Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has had a tall 2 year old reach the height req. for Kali RR. I think it's only 38 inches. Is it safe enough for a toddler, or even appropriate? Just wondering- I have a tall DD...
Thanks,
Alicia

I don't think I would let my 2 yo ride. I've been on the receiving end of a torrent of water right over my head. It might scare a little kid.

:wizard: My DD rode this for the first time when she was 2. It was about a month or so before she turned 3 and she also was tall. She had no problems on the ride other than getting soaked! LOL I would say try it. HTH pixiedust: Rebecca

I was thinking the same thing. My little boy wasn't tall enough this past December and he's pretty tall. I wouldn't have taken him on it anyway. While it's not the most thrilling ride, if you go down the wrong way, you will get a huge tidal wave wash over you. I don't know if a two-year old will know to hold their breath or how to react to it.

I rode it this past Christmas with a couple and their four-year old and the four-year old got off the ride screaming at the top of his lungs. The big drop and subsequent wave scared him.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I don't want to traumatize her on her first trip to the world. There are other fun things for her to do at AK.
Thanks again!

Most 2 year olds would not like getting drenched (I know some would love it though), and the height requirement would also be an issue.

Our friends brought their 2.5 year old on and he loved it. I think it depends on the kid though. He's a tough as nails kind of kid and not much phases him......

A 2 year old in our group rode with us. He had his hands over his eyes the entire time. We thought we would never get him on again. The first thing he asked was lets do it again! Good Luck

It depends on the child. We took both our kids on it last week. DS is 2 and he LOVED it!! They had a special harness for him. DD who is 4 didn't like it but she was cranky and that affects her likes/dislikes a lot. It really is a tame ride...you just get really wet if you're in the wrong spot. If your child likes Goofy's Barnstormer in Toontown....he's like the rapids (if he doesn't mind getting wet).

My daughter went on it when she was 3. The water came in right at her head level, so she got drenched. I felt real bad but when we returned the following year she wanted to go on it again, this time wearing a poncho!

My son was 2.5 years the first time he rode it. He absolutly loves this ride. He will go on it over and over until he gets SOAKED. The second time he rode it he got submereged in water. Literally a wave came and he was under for a couple of seconds. Freaked me out, until he came up and said "That fun!" With a HUGE grin on his face. Everyone on the raft had a good laugh.

The next year we had to ride it 6 times in a row before he got soaked. (It was September so there was no line.)

My little guy is not a thrill seeker. This and Soarin are probably his favorite "big kid" rides. He had ridden everything w/a 40in height limit once and didn't care for most of them.

My just-turned 2 y/o is 36". I'm sure she will hit the 38" mark by the time we go in December. She is adventurous enough that she would probably really like Kali River Rapids. The last time we went my then 3.5 y/o would not ride it -- he was exactly 40". But he doesn't like getting wet (wouldn't ride Splash Mountain because he didn't want to get wet) but my dd doesn't care if she's wet. I will let her watch it and see what she thinks before she rides.

I think it just really depends on the child. I know my 4.5 year old would absolutely hate it because he hates water in his face, but my daughter who will be 3.5 on our next trip would absolutely love it because she just can't get enough water in her face!LOL! My 7 year old loved it last year!

My daughter rode this when she was 2 and loved it! She thought it was hilarious that the water went over her head! I got wet, but she was drenched from head to toe! It really depends on the kid.
