2 weeks till October Chicago area DIS meet. Any more joining us for a day of sharing?

As the original thread has been getting a bit long, I thought it would be good to bring it up to date with a fresh one.

The date that has been decided on, by least amount of conflicts, is Saturday, October 12th.

The place will be the

Chicago Ridge Mall located at 444 Chicago Ridge Mall Drive, Chicago Ridge, IL (708/422-0897) This mall is very easy access off of the Tollway, 294, at 95th Street, Oaklawn.

There is a DIS Collectors' Board meet that will start at 10 AM, and the Community Board meet will piggyback off that one at 1 PM. Certainly everyone is more than welcome at either or both of them. We are also looking at having a dinner somewhere in the immediate area after the meet. Bennigans has been mentioned as a possible choice.

This is a list that KimRaye dug out of the many pages. (helenabear had sent me the same list late yesterday also). Not sure how many people (spouses and children) are going to be with each DIS'er, maybe post here so the list can be updated.

Hope to see everyone who usually make the many Chicago area meets, and really hope to see a lot of the area folks who have yet to make a meet. I know there are a lot of folks in the area who have not as yet been to a meet. How about all the folks in IL IN WI IA MN MI OH KY MO, or anywhere?? (Canada also, Lynne )

Well I thought I sent her an e-mail talking about me coming and I noticed that it was saved by not sent (and not finished either) I guess I started to tell her a bunch of stuff and got interrupted, saved and never sent... just sent it now though. I am lucky though and I did remember to wish her a happy birthday last week, so I'm not all brainless

I may be a last minute add-on. Is that OK? DH and DS are probably going on a church father/son camping trip and I would love to bring DD and GDD. I've been following the post and chomping at the bit.

Can I wait until that last week and let you know? It will really depend on how GDD is doing and whether I want to make the trip with a 7-week old. We have family in Naperville in case I would need anything but it is still 4 hours away.

Christine, according to mapquest it is about 19 or so hours from Orlando to Chicago... you could make a long weekend out of this trip

well I know I'm giong to be there. Boy scouts is having a campout and Tim thinks he needs to be there but he also knows I will kill him if he backs out on me again. Haven't decided if I should tell him If he goes I go to Discon. Wouldn't be a problem for him to go if he can get a ride and I can get a dvd player for the car. Don't know how the 2 boys can handle all day in the mall. Heck I don't know how I can handle it. New accesories for the play doh might work. At least Danny's lunch/snack will be taken care of.

Just put me, John and Danny down as a definite and Tim if he knows whats good for him.

I think Dan needs to change the locations from all those states he has listed (and Canada) to "Anywhere in the World" I did notice that Southwest had pretty good deals on air... just not something I can afford this time I think.

Helenabear - So it would take around 20 hours for me - I like an hour from WDW. Not too terrible if you have a couple other drivers with you.

I would love it if we could all go....not sure about it yet though, probably not feasible since Michelle started a new job, Leila is in school and I dont think that Chrissi has much vacation time left. I cant afford to fly - plus I am not sure if I want to, never flown before. But I will still try to talk Chrissi into it!
