We are leaving on Nov 27th and I have ordered and returned like 3 pairs of suggested shoes. Nothing is comfy. I have mild neuropathy in my feet and any minor thing in the shoe I feel like 50 times more than the average person. I can't wear thongs with the thing between the toes. HELP!! I used to love keds, wondering if I should go that route. Thanks all!

Can I just say that I feel your pain. I have a lot of foot pain that developed in the last year. It started with plantar fascitis and is now generalized discomfort. I was really stumped with finding comfortable shoes and finally ordered a pair of sandals from Chaco. They have a huge selection.

I found that I did best when I alternated my shoes. I alternated crocs, teva sandals, and the chacos. My feet seemed to improve through the week. I also used some cream on them at night and in the morning that helped.

Good luck in your search for the perfect shoes. I can't wear sneakers when I am standing because they start to feel too confining.

I have back problems, not feet problems so this may not help, but dr. Scholls Joliet are the best shoes I've ever had. They are very soft/cushiony.

I don't have so much feet pain as much leg pain but i found the best shoes i have ever worn are brooks, have you tried them?

Have you tried Toms? I wore them all around France and Disneyland Paris in August. They are very easy to break in, just make sure they are a tiny bit snug when you buy them so they are form to your foot. I wear an 8.5 and I bought an 8.

We're also going on 11-27, staying at BLT. Last year I had foot problems that almost ruined my entire trip so I'm being overly cautious this time with my shoes! I bought Sauconey nylon sneakers and Minnetonka moccasins. I'm also taking some Croc damsels but hoping this trip my feet stay happy.

I've had good luck with New Balance 992/993s and Brooks Adrenaline GT Series. But I just got a pair of Nike fusion that feel fantastic on my feet! Hopefully they will get me through our upcoming trip.

If you're in the Chicago area, then I would suggest you go shopping instead of ordering shoes. Feet are unique, and trying on/walking around in the store will help ensure the pair you buy feels good. Don't put it off. You're running out of time to have them well broken in before your trip. :) Good luck!

Did your podiatrist make suggestions?

I wear New Balance 846s. I bought two pair about two weeks before my last trip. I was fitted at a New Balance store. The shoes are engineered for my particular problems.

I would go to a shoe store and make sure you tell them that you have neuropathy they might not know what that is so you might need to tell them its nerve damage.I know what you are going through I have that plus RA in my feet and I can;t find any shoes that are comfy on my feet. You might want to look into getting dietabic socks and shoes since they are wide. Also try on shoes later in the day

What part of Chicago are you in? If you can get to Andersonville, you should visit Alamo Shoes. It's an old-timey shoe store with knowledgable staff that will be able to find you a great pair of shoes. It's near Foster and Clark.

Hope you find something great!

I rotated my last trip though a pair of Toms, a pair of Nikes (I ran the Buzz and Woody 5k!) and a pair of sandals that have arches. I find different shoes everyday helps.
