2 weeks at the Fort!!

We just booked 2 weeks at the Fort in June! I am excited. I have always wanted to camp at Disney and finally we are getting our chance. We will be towing down our Keystone Outback from Indiana. This will be our first long haul with it. It makes me a little nervous, but I am sure we will be fine.

We decided to go with just a full hook up site because hubby didn't wanna be on top of the next door neighbors. He specifically asked for a quiet site. I really wanted a preferred site, but I heard those are on the busier side of the resort. They are packed in and alot of noise can be heard from the marina. Am I correct on that? I know we will be a lot farther from the marina and such. How close will we be to the pool? Within walking distance? Or should I have gone for a premium?

How long of sewer hoses do you all normally bring? Our sewer hookups are at the front of our camper. I noticed all of Disney's hookup look towards the back of the site. Just wondering if I should pick up an extension or two.

Any other words of wisdom or advice? I will be quietly stalking this board from now on

Yes, you can walk to the pools. I'd bring extensions for water, sewer and electric, never know when you might need them. And cable TV hook up, if you desire. 1600 and 1800 back by the canal are the quieter of the full hook up loops.

Sounds awesome. We are booked in January for 2 weeks with a couple of families under a grand gathering. We like the preferred over full hookup, but had no issues with the full hookup sites either. There is enough space to be comfortable and not feel as if your ontop of your neighbor.

Disney is pretty good about placement of the power, water and sewer. But be prepared that it may not line up the way you want it. I have not needed to use more then a single hose for sewer, but a family we travel with did one year for both sewer and power. Be aware that FL law requires positive connection of the sewer either through a threaded 90 or a donut, not a show stopper based on whats on the market these days, but you should be aware.

One more question that I just thought of: How is the traffic in the loops? I mean, is it safe enough to let the little ones ride their bikes, or not? Debating on whether to actually bring their bikes or not....

Most loops have little traffic. We stay in the preferred loops and even those are fine for kids. Definitely bring the bikes if you have room. They make getting around easier and they are fun to take "looping" checking out the rest of the loops and seeing all the other RVs.
