2 value rooms or 1 moderate?

Thanks for the warning on the connecting rooms issue. The person I spoke to at disney said they are not allowed to use the word guarantee, but that I don't have to worry because they won't put my kids down the hall from me. Sounds to me like that isn't always the case.

Which moderate resort would you recommend? I have heard alot about Coronado Springs and Carribean Beach. The main pool not being available at CBR is somewhat of a deal killer though. What about the others?

Thanks for all the help.

POR is a lovely resort with a great pool area. Plus if you are put in the Alligator Bayou section, you will also get a trundle bed that one of your kids could sleep on. The whole resort is very lush and green. POR is my favorite moderate.

Your best bet would be a suite at All Star Music, they would have a huge plasma TV, their own bathroom, fridge, micro, etc and you would have a nice big bedroom to yourselves......

POR is a really nice resort (and POFQ is so close it is easy to use that pool also). Since CBR pool is being refurbished we are staying at POR in a few weeks....we have stayed there before and really enjoyed it. Be sure and check out the really neat pools and all the other ammenities on the Disney website.

CSR is our favorite resort. Beautiful, peaceful, great pool and playground, excellent food at the food court. A few things I enjoy about CSR: the rooms have central AC, instead of window unit. (Those always seem noisy and don't cool evenly IMO.) They have ceiling fans. Buses are deicated to CSR, while PO shares with POFQ. The difference here is the PO resorts have over 100 rooms more than CSR, so the buses are much more crowded.

Just an FYI

The Suites come with 2 27” flat CRT TV's. But that means they are 27 inchs with a flat screen not a flat panel ( the wording is very confusing and many will read flat CRT and think that means flat panel). Even though they are not flat panel they are a big improvement the older type TV's that were in the All Stars before the room refurbishment.

The Family Suites start at $184 a night duing value season.
Most of the Disney resorts (excluding DVC) charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
The Family Suites do not charge extra for extra adults.
1-6 adults can stay in the Family Suites for the same et price.
The Family Suites have discounts available also so if you keep your eyes open you just may snag a great deal.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Here is the layout of the Family Suites:

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers (4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

If I am traveling with kids I would rather have the extra room and second bathroom. I enjoy the better resorts when I am traveling without the kids. I have a 12, 10, and 6 yr old and they rarely even notice the resort.

Thanks for all the great info. We are still going back and forth. We are now considering a split stay and checking out both options. We will probably waffle right up to when we make the reservation (I guess that is half the fun).
