2 UY-? re using points from both for one res

We have 50 points in August UY for HHI. For an add-on, if we buy a different UY, could we use the points from both UYs for one vacation, specifically in November? We're trying to figure out what we need to do to have 105 points to vacation at Thanksgiving every year, booking at 11 months out. Would we need to buy at least 55 more points? Or if it's impossible to combine points from different UYs, would we have to buy at least 105 points, then sell our 50?

sure - you'd just have to:

1) book 3 nights with HHI pts and 4 nights with the other contract and ask MS to link the 2 separate reservations or

2) transfer the HHI pts to the other contract, so that you can pool the points together at 11 months (if the reservation is for HHI and both contracts are HHI contracts).

(BTW, use year has nothing to do with when you can call to make the reservation - points from every use year are valid at some point in november, you would just take more risk using points from a dec UY, for example.)

also - while you can add-on 55 pts directly...you would probably not have the option of getting a different UY month.

you can buy a 55 pt resale...but you might have to settle for a 50 pt or 60 pt resale as they are more common.

You can transfer the points from one contract to the other. We have a larger contract with one add-on and a separate, smaller contract with only 50 points. We usually transfer the points from the smaller to the larger. The smaller contract retains the UY and home resort, but you can combine a few points from each for a single night. Otherwise, you can only use each for full nights.

While I'd agree overall with the info provided, it's not that much of an issue to have different UY. However, I would not buy a different UY if I had 50 points, esp if I was only adding on a smaller amount anyway.

However, if its a deal you can't refuse go for it. We have two UYs. It's not a big deal. As previously posted you can use both on the same trip but not the same night.

I wouldn't normally recommend it for a small package size no matter how good the deal was. Lets face it, one is not going to get such a deal that you can't turn it down with ROFR being active.
