2 TS Credits - OOP or FD?

I have made all my ADR's and after reading several other threads am wondering if we should pay OOP or do the Free Dining credits?

Our schedule is:

Lunch at CRT
Dinner -Spirit of Aloha Luau
9:30 Cat 1 - HDDR
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

I am also thinking of doing the Rainforest Cafe, and Whispering Canyon.

Is it better to pay OOP or do the FD credits?

I'm not sure of your exact question.

If you have credits because you've booked a package under the free dining promotion you should use your credits to pay for meals. If you have the dining plan you would only pay out of pocket(OOP) if you have more meals booked than you have in your plan. If you don't have a dining plan (free or paid for) you will pay OOP for all of your meals.

Even if you go to Disney during the Free Dining window (Aug 24th-Sep 20th) you must still book and pay for the Free Dining package, it is not automatic for anyone at the park during that time.

From the information in your post I cannot tell:

When you are going, for how many nights
Whether you have the Free Dining Basic plan or have upgraded to Deluxe or no plan at all.

First, how many nights are you going for?

Do you have deluxe dining, or just regular ddp?

Yes, I have the Regular Free Dining plan!!

We will be there 7 nights, so with these reservations I have used up all my TS credits for our stay.

CRT - 2 credits
HDDR - 2 credits
LUAU - 2 credits
Chef Mickey's - 1 credit

I'm just wondering if it would be better to pay OOP for some of these and substitute the other reservations I want to make (WC and RFC) into the FDD or pay OOP for the WCC and RFC.

I read somewhere that it was better to use your TS creits at some resturants and better to pay OOP at others.

Becareful with Rain Forest, they are not on DP. We learned that the hard way 2 trips ago even though we were told they were.

Yes, RFC is not on the dining plan. Based solely on what you have, I'd stick with your original meals on DDP unless you plan to eat at WCC for a meal other than breakfast. In that case I'd use my TS credit from CM's breakfast and put that towards WCC meal. If you are eating at other places, post another question on the boards and we'll reassess for you.

Rainforest has to be OOP since they don't accept the Dining Plan.

Personally I wouldn't spend 6 credits on 3 meals when I only get 7 credits. I'd probably only do one of the dinner shows and book another 1TS meal like Boma. But that's just my preference.

If WCC is your only other TS meal I'd pay cash for that one or if Chef Mickey's in breakfast it may be cheaper the pay for that meal.

We'll be on the FDP promotion too, but only a 4 night stay. I'm likely to book Crystal Palance, Chef Mickey's and trying to decide on the final 2 or book a 2TS meal. Heck I'm even toying with upgrading to the Deluxe plan, but not likely.
