Prologue: 'Bout 3 months ago, I mentioned to DW that my beloved NO Saints were playing in Tampa on my 32nd b-day, and it "would be neat" to go see them on the road. Then a week later she's looking at tickets online asking me if I want to go...WHAT?!?!?! Who are you, and what have you done with my wife?? So she ordered 2 tickets, and suggested I invite my brother so we didn't have to burden anyone with the kids for the weekend...really?!?

So we start looking at details for the weekend, and it dawns on me I have a few points hanging out to dry, so I suggest to DW that I try to book a last minute studio for Sat. night...and she says OK---she just went from :woohoo: to :worship: !! So I book a standard studio at KV for Sat. night, book a cheapie for the ride home Sunday night, and we're just countin' down days till this weekend. We debated going to a park for Sat. since we already spent a bundle on Saints tix, but decided in the end to do MK since it was open to midnight.

Now, here's the connection to my TR title: the day she bought the Saints tix, I needed to go to the grocery store for some vittles, and when I started up the car the song "2 Tickets to Paradise" is blasting on the radio--honest to goodness!!! But even better, and I swear I'm not making this up, Friday night at 2am when were packing up and driving out, the song is on the radio AGAIN!!! Karma, or what???

So now for my TR:

Trip to KV uneventful, arrive at WDW around 1pm EST, check in, pay for meal plan, pay for park passes, park, drop off luggage, hit the bus stop. Waited 5 mins. for MK bus, strolled over the the turnstiles just after 2pm EST. Played the FP lines right all day/night, so we were able to see all of Adventureland (minus MCoA), all Frontierland (minus TSI), all Tomorrowland (minus AO), and HM before getting souvenirs for the DS, DD, and DW and heading out at midnight.

Next morning, stroll around KV and JH before hitting The Mara for some BF. Head out to Raymond James Stadium, get some jeers from the Bucs fans, and watched our Who Dat's steam roll--all on my Birthday!!! Headed to Tallahassee that night, and home the next day! Needless to say a full weekend, and since I hit a park this was officially my 40th trip to WDW since I was 8 years old!!!

Reflections:
Not too much time at KV, but already LOVE JH and the whole place (my fav DVC). Room was nice and clean, and love the attention to authentic details throughout KV!!! Will be spending 5 nights at Mardi Gras at KV in a 1BR villa, so am hopeful will have more details about this stay. Parking under the building was a great convenience, since we were in the first section from the lobby on the pool side of the resort.

We bought the DDPQSP since we were going to a park. Here's the breakdown for 2 adults: Cost at check-in: $62 and change. Here's what we used our credits for: Dinner at Pecos Bill's: $34 for 2 burger meals, deserts, and large drinks. 1 Snack at MK (ice cream bar): $3 and change. BF at The Mara: 2 BF bounty plates, 4 drinks (2 waters, 1 Coke, 1 Monster) $29 and change, 2 resort mugs $29 and change. 3 snack cookies $10 and change.
We went through about $105-$110 in food over 2 days, still will argue DDPQSP is worth it for both convenience and price.

Bus service: Great, 5 min. wait to go to MK and 20 min. wait at midnight to go to AKV.

Crowds: Moderate, 20 min. wait for PotC, 45 min. wait for SplMtn.

Cast Member Experience: Excellent, from service people at food locations to shops and resort.

I have one random complaint, and this has nothing to do with Disney (other than this is where it is taking place). I noticed the amount of park litter (especially in queues) was really out of hand. I can understand the random straw wrapper or napkin here or there, but empty drink bottles every 5-8 feet, napkins, empty bags/wrappers, I mean seriously?!?!? I don't want to generalize to include responsible people, so I'll just say that it is disappointing to know that some people don't have the self-respect for respect for others to know just how courteous it is to clean up after yourself. Park goers pay for the privilege to use these facilities, so I hope that we can all make an conscious effort to maintain the cleanliness of this magical place. I'm not trying to target anyone, unless you don't take the time to try to leave public places in the same or better condition than the way you found it.

I know this has been a long post for a short visit, so thanks for reading this far. WDW and KV were great, and WHO DAT!!!

What a wonderful Bday gift from your wife. Don't you love the convenience of DVC? And to boot, the Saints won.
