2 Ticket questions: Convention & AP's

I purchased a package that includes a convention ticket. I have been told by other sources that this can be upgraded to an AP. Does anyone have confirmation that this is true, and has anyone done this??

Also, the convention ticket includes one "Fun" add-on. If we use this at Typhoon Lagoon, can we do it on an off day where we don't use the ticket for a park? For instance, it is a 4-day Hopper ticket. If we go to a park on Monday and Tuesday, Typhoon Lagoon on Wednesday, and another park on Thursday and Friday?

Thanks for your help!

if the "convention" tickets are part of a package that is from one particular Disney Travel Agent, the tickets may not be upgradeable once you are on site. If you purchased through a TA you might to check about upgrading the ticket.

Agreed my understanding is that all convention tickets are not able to be upgraded once at Disney. If it is that extremely popular travel agency (which it sounds like since you get that "fun" add on) they definitely cannot be upgraded to an AP. We considered buying their greatly discounted tickets but after confirming with the travel agency they could not be upgraded to AP we decided not to buy them.

I am going to a conference the first week of October and bought discounted tickets through a special link set up for the conference. All multi-day tickets bought also included 1 fun add-on too. So it is not specific to whatever agency you are referencing. The fine print says they are upgradeable, but I am not sure about upgrading to an AP. I would call Disney and ask.

I'll be getting convention tickets for my trip in December and specifically asked the TA about upgrading to APs. He stated that Disney will do it, but I would have to pay the full difference from convention price to AP (instead of regular ticket price to AP).

Yes. This is the situation with the "convention tickets" that can be upgraded.

Since there is no "price bridging" done with the upgrade, you won't be saving any money in upgrading these tickets to AP
over just purchasing the AP to being-with.

I specifically asked my TA about upgrading prior to purchasing. She told me they were upgradable to an AP. I currently have an AP, and my husband has had one in the past but we have never upgraded a regular ticket to one, just purchased/renewed them outright. Just help me to understand the price bridging thing....? If the price I paid for the ticket was $345, and the current price for a Disney Platinum Pass is $749, will I have to pay $404 or more than that? And do I really have to get the water park add-on for $829?

And more questions: At what point do I need to do the upgrade at Guest Services, and will it effect my fast passes???
Thanks for clarifying what this all means!

1. To be clear, there is no price-bridging done on these tickets.
2. $404. Tax will be charged if not included in your prices. (I didn't check your prices.)
3. If you USE a WPF&M ("Fun") option BEFORE you upgrade, you must upgrade to an AP
with those options.
If you upgrade WITHOUT using a "Fun" option, you have the choice to
upgrade to an AP with or without the WPF&M option.
4. Keeping in mind #3 above, you can upgrade anytime before using the ticket, or WHILE you are using the ticket.
The latest you can upgrade is close-of-business on the day that you use the tickets' last option.
Upgrading will not affect your FPs.
