We are thinking of going down to run the tower of terror 10 miler and are thinking of saving some points and doing 2 studios instead of 2 bedroom, how does it work for the reservations, would I be the name on both? We would be staying at BLT how does it work with adjoining rooms or getting rooms as close together as possible? At the minimum we would need to be on the same floor but preferably within a few rooms of each other if not next door? Is it considered a request or is it something in notes of reservation or something they do accommodate?

You would have to have different names on each room. There has to be an adult 18 or older in each room. You can request that they be close but there is no guarantee.

They normally try to get them as close as possible but many times that may mean on top of each other rather than on the same floor. It all depends on what rooms are vacating on the same day as you are arriving. If you need to be sure the rooms are together then get a 2 bedroom. If it would be convenient but not necessary go for 2 studios.

You will have to make the reservations, then when you have both reservation numbers, call MS and place a "Travel With" notice on both rooms with the other reservation. Also, while on the phone with MS put in your requst to be close to each other.
I have done this with 3 studios at SSR. The room assigner made a great trip for us by placing all 3 rooms in one building and on the same floor.

Just remember, if you're running, that the studios don't have washers/dryers. When DH ran the half marathon, that's one reason we went with the 1 BR-those sweaty clothes!

If it means mom and dad have to split up for the trip, it might not be worth it. Especially if you have little ones who will have to be split up, too. There is no guarantee you will be anywhere close to each other, especially during the busy days of early October.

Great question. We plan to rent 2 studios for our adult kids and I know they would want adjoining rooms...or at the very least, to be very close by. Good to know. :)

We did this at SSR this spring. It worked so well, much better than a 1 bedroom since we had two bathrooms. We were down the hall from each other. Also nice since our adult kids are still shall we say slobs in a hotel room, so no arguing!

As mentioned before, no guarantees on the closeness of the two rooms. I have had some that were not at all conveniently close by.
