Next fall we are going on a disney cruise and we have decided to spend 2 nights before the cruise at our home resort AKV so we can enjoy WDW before the cruise. I am trying to decide between getting 1 2 bedroom or 2 studios to save on points. The cast of characters is me, DH, DD who will be 3.5, SIL and MIL and FIL. If we get the 2 bed it would be MIL and FIL in the master, DH, DD and I in the 2nd bedroom and SIL on the sofabed. If we go studios it would either be MIL and FIL in 1 studio and in the other studio would be me and DH in one bed and SIL and DD in the other. Alternatively it could be MIL, FIL and SIL in one studio and DH, DD and I in the other one. We are a close family (we had 5 adults in one room at the beach club one year) so the sleeping arrangements wouldn't be a problem for us. After the 2 nights we get on the cruise and it is SIL in one stateroom by herself, MIL and FIL in another and DD, DH and I in a 3rd.
Booking 2 value studios would save us 19 pts over the 2 bedroom, and 2 standard studios would save us 9 pts if for some reason I couldn't get the values. I do plan on booking exactly 11 months out though.
My reasoning is, I know we won't be in the room much at all since we only have 2 days to do the parks, I don't expect us to be cooking any meals so the kitchen would be a waste for us as well. Usually we haul a large amount of groceries with us, but since we are only there for 2 days and then going on the cruise we won't do that either. Also if for some reason some of the party has to cancel, I could just cancel 1 studio and not have to worry about finding new accommodations. I think DH might balk at having to share a room with DD, but we will all be sharing a stateroom on the cruise anyways and he could go hang out in the other studio while she was sleeping if he wanted.....
WWYD?
