2 seperate ressies for one stay- would you?

We are going for 7 nights mid may and staying at DLH
If I book 2 nights room only on DL.com (with current getaway promo) and then 5 nights room and tickets at GAT (utilizing 5 for 3 deal) I can save myself about $300

Has any one ever done this? What is the likelyhood we would get to keep our room from days 1-2 for days 3-7? Would this be too much hassle then it is worth?

What are you doing for tickets the first two nights of room-only?

Or were those not in chronological order?

If it truly saves you money, go for it, but make absolutely sure, first!


I personally doubt you could keep the room, but then we don't get huge amounts of "pixie dust" on our trips (other than getting seriously upgraded on one trip). But who knows?

We did this on our most recent trip back in January (although we stayed at PPH and not DLH). We originally booked the trip for 5 nights on the 5/3 deal, then at the last minute, we decided to stay 2 extra nights (for a total of 7) and made a separate reservation for those 2 nights. Prior to arriving, we spoke with a CM on the phone who said they can't guarantee the same room, but they'll put a note on both of our reservations. When we arrived, the CM checking us in was awesome and made sure we were able to keep the same room for our entire stay. However they had to issue us two different sets of keys. The first set was only good for days 1 and 2. The second set was good for days 3-7. The other great thing the CM did was he made sure my parents (who were arriving for days 3-7) would be in the adjoining room. If the reservations for your room are for the same room type (i.e. standard throughout your 7 days, or resort view for your 7 days) then CM said they'll most likely be able to keep you in the same room.

The only other thing (not a big deal, but something you may encounter) was that the 5/3 deal was booked as a vacation package through the WDTC. The extra two nights was for room only. For some reason, their computers don't group the two reservations together when one is a package and the other is a room only, even though it's under the same name. So when the CM on the phone brought up our 5/3 package, there was no sign of the extra 2 night reservation. When I gave her the second reservation number, they were able to see the room only res, but the two were never linked. Like I said, not a huge deal, and the CM ended up putting the "stay in same room" request on both reservations, but something you may encounter.

We did this several years ago at the DLH. Not a problem..we just had to go to the lobby and check out and then check back in..kept the same room for the length of our stay. Hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do to get the best deals these days so go for it...for $300 savings definately do it!
