hi all,

I currently have 2 rooms booked at FFI, one that will have my sister, her DH, their DS1.5 and my mom in it, and ours will be myself, DH, DD13 and DD1.5- I have found a two bedroom suite at Desert Inn- I am thinking of switching to this as it would give us a bedroom to put each baby in, and then a common room- thoughts?

I'd go with DI&S. Not only for the suite setup but the location is great!

I have made it from the Hyperion Theater over to DI&S to our room in about 15 minutes.

It is a great location when there will be trips back to the room during the day.
I do enough walking in the parks, I like the hotel to be real close.

We chose something else over the DI this last trip. As we would trudge past the DI to/from our hotel, I would think, “we could already be almost in bed.”

The last time we stayed there, my brother’s family had a suite. They were great regarding space. It’s a very basic hotel. It gets the job done. If your family is ok with clean, motel style hotels with a free expanded continental breakfast and the ability to get into the parks in under 15 minutes, go for it. The further back you are in the property (like there is this area at the end that makes a little courtyard) the more quiet it will get. Any issues we might have had were with obnoxious guests and you can get those wherever you are.

The only reason I would go with the FFI over the DI&S is Marriott points. If you have a Marriott account and are accruing points, then 2 rooms for a multi-day visit = quite a few points. If points don't matter, then the suite sounds like a good deal.

The suites at the DI&S are closer to the front of the property too, making it all the more appealing at the end of a long day (especially with babies).
