Need some input here. With the new AP rates
coming out, the wife and I are considering splitting our stay between 2 resorts. We may
be looking at 5 nights at the Polynesian, and
4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge.

The question is, what are some hassels, problems,
disadvantages to doing this?? Anyone who has
split their stay before.... the good, bad and ugly
responses are all welcome.

Thanks for helping:cool: :cool:

We split the stay all the time and love it. It's not for everyone though. We primarily live out of our suitecases, so it's not a problem for us. Here is how it works:

1. The night before, call bell services to let them know you will be doing this.
2. The next morning, make sure you have everything packed. If you want, you can pack one bag to keep with you to include anything you might want during the day (swimsuits, etc).
3. Once packed, call bell services.
4. Wait a few minutes for them to arrive, and wait for them to put bags on cart and hand you receipt (not everyone has to wait of course - leave one person, depending on size of party, and meet up a few minutes later).
5. Go and do whatever you wish at whatever park you wish (that you hve tickets for of course). You can even pre-check in at the new resort. If there is a room available (depends on when you go), you can check in to your room. Your luggage will not arrive until after 3. If your room is not available, they will give you a ticket with a number to call. Call at your convenience, and they will tell you if the room is available.
6. If you didn't do so earlier, check in after 3.
7. Once you are in your room after 3 pm, call bell services and have them deliver your luggage.

Thats it. We've never experienced a hassle with it.

I agree with MJames (Semper Fi). It was a pretty painless experience the 2 times we did it. The resorts take care of pretty much everything. Other than packing a second time, it was all good.

Sometimes I "plan" my packing for the split stays..

For example

In Suitcase #1 - clothes for the 2 of us at 1st resort

In Suitcase #2 - clothes for the 2 of us at the 2nd resort

Plus of course a toiletry bag with whatever we need... and an extra carry on/ tote for souveniers etc...

====

Then at the 1st resort - I don't even touch suitcase 2 - it goes straight in the closet.

And I only use the stuff in Suitcase #1

=====

When it is time to check out of resort # 1 - I stuff our worn clothes back into suitcase #1 (you don't even have to be neat about it!)

Then we Change resorts and voila... we open suitcase # 2 (clothes may need freshening up/ironing)

This is an efficient little system for us :p

>>^..^<<

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll do what
any good husband does.....leave it up to the wife:p
