We will be checking into the Poly for our first stay next Fri:cool1: Do you get the newspaper left outside your door everyday (we had that at WL ) & even though Southwest is not part of the airline thingy they do, can the CMs still print out a boarding pass for us the day before we leave? And if they can, where do I go for that? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you will get USA Today each morning (except maybe not on weekends).

I don't know if they will print your boarding passes for SWA. I would ask them when you get there.

Have a great trip!

Yes, papers are M-F only since USA Today doesn't print on the weekends.

Lobby concierge will print SW boarding passes for you.

Have a great time. We're going back to the Polynesian soon and can not wait!

Thanks for the help. Wasn't exactly sure about the SW thing. Who doesn't like getting group A!!!

You will still have to be at a computer 24 hours before your flight to get group A seating. Concierge won't do the check in process for you at the allotted time. We had a trustworthy family member at home check us in.(Needed to know they would make sure to be at the computer at checkin time) You can then print the actually boarding passes at a kiosk at the airport.

Use iboarda.com which will automatically check you in 24 hours in advance and then at your convenience, you can login to get your boarding passes.

Sorry to be a little slow, but what do you mean the concierge won't do the check in process for you? If my flight is at 8 pm on a tues, can't I go down to have them check me in at 8 pm on mon? Will they print the passes for us? We obviously do our own when leaving for our trip but we never bother on the return trip so I'm a little confused.

Yes, you can down to concierge yourself and ask their assistance in getting online and checking in and printing boarding passes. My point was that you have to physically be present when this is happening. You can't simply leave your info with concierge so that they will take care of it at the specified time. 8am may not be an issue for you, if you don't have plans to be at a park or restaurant by then. Our return flight was 6:50pm,and the day before we were having dinner at Epcot at that time (when the 24 hour window opened up.)
I asked my sister-in-law to do the check in process for me from her home in RI (all she needed was my confirmation #), then I printed our boarding passes at a kiosk located next to the Southwest counter.
I hope this makes my tip clearer, I did not mean to be confusing!

Sorry I see your flight is 8pm not am. Info is the same. I have also been told that each park has a help desk that would help you get online to check in as well, if that is where you are at the designated time.

Gotcha! Thanks alot for the help. I think it will work out ok for us. Our return flight is at 8:15 on Tues pm & we will be at O'hanas for dinner at 7:45. Guess Dh will have to excuse himself from the table for a few minutes!! He loves it when I give him stuff like that to do:lmao: Thanks again. Everything is crystal clear!!

This will be interesting.

DALLAS — Say goodbye to the Southwest Airlines "cattle call."

The Dallas-based airline says it is making changes to its longtime open seating policy to assign a specific pecking order to travelers waiting to board their Boeing 737 jets.

Starting in early November, Southwest customers will be assigned a letter-number combination on their boarding passes, which will reserve their spot in their boarding group. According to a Southwest statement, when a Southwest gate agent calls a boarding group, passengers will take their place in their numerical order.

Southwest has tested the new boarding system since last month at San Antonio International Airport after it quit a flirtation last summer with assigned seating in San Diego.
