I tried to search for the Parmalat answer, but found the search function had "been disabled by the administrator". I see this happen occasionally, only to find the search working the next time I try. Anyone know what the story is?

So on to my real question.. Can you please tell me about Parmalat? I heard that this is milk in a box that does not have to be refrigerated. Has anyone given this to their toddlers? Does it taste normal and have the same nutritional values? And, finally, do the stores where I might have my 30 minute grocery stop carry this product? The only time I've seen anything Parmalat was on a vacation once.. it was in the milk cooler, but I noticed very long expiration dates.

Thanks for your help!

I think the Parmalat comes in an enriched version (like regular milk) but I believe that once you open it, it has to go in the fridge like regular milk and has a shelf life of a week or so. If you don't open it, then you can keep it out of the fridge and store it for a long time. You might as well get regular milk if you're going to pick it up at the grocery down there rather than bring it with you. Some people buy a cheap cooler at their grocery stop to store the cold items in. We brought our own cooler down and had no problem keeping milk and other items cold in it.

Parmalat also comes in single serving 8 ounce boxes. Exactly like a juice box. We use this all the time on vacations because we never have to worry about keeping it cold. I think you can find it in any grocery store, but I'm not positive. I have never had a problem finding it.

We used to get Parmalat in Italy and it tasted awful. We thought it might have be due to being over there so we gave it another try here in the states. It was still gross! I hate that stuff and so did my kids. It is definitely a different taste.

Hi Gutto

Just wondering as my dd takes a box of parmalat to school every day and likes it. Please let me know what the issue is if any for serving this every day. From what I have read its just like regular milk except its pasturized at a higher temp allowing for the long term storage. Thanks..

To the OP you can find the parmalat with the coffee section at most grocery stores or with the baking needs - don't know why. My daughter likes it and using it on vacation allows me to buy the 8oz boxes and chill as needed thus eliminating the need to rent the 10.00 per day fridge and use a cooler more efficiently.
