Hi, everyone! A couple of questions...

My 4yo DD is going to "collect" pressed pennies at DL this weekend. Should we bring a couple of rolls of quarters? I'm going to bring some shiny pennies, but I wasn't sure if they have quarter-change machines, or if we need to bring our own.

Also, I would like to get her a fanny-pack of sorts that she can put her Disney treasures in while we are there (her ticket, any little trinket souvenirs, etc.) It's been about 2 decades since I've even had the desire to buy any type of fanny pack :rotfl: and I have no idea where to look to get her one. Do they sell them at DL? If so, do you know approximately how much they cost?

TIA!

My dd got a Minnie Mouse fanny pack last year at the princess shop in the back side of the castle. Not sure how much.

There are LOTS of penny press machines at DL (and DCA). And I do mean LOTS. If you search Google for "Disneyland Penny Presses" you can find many sites with lists.

The Penny Arcade on Main Street is a good place to get change. There are machines, as well as CMs that can assist you if you ask.

There are not necessarily change machines everywhere else that there are penny presses, but I think you would be okay getting change as you go to avoid having to carry (heavy) rolls of quarters with you. I might take a roll of pennies with me, however, if I were you.

I believe the pressed pennies are 51 cents (50 cents, plus the penny).

You can also buy a pressed penny souvenir book that your DD can place all of them in as you go for safe keeping and a nice memento for you both to flip through to remember the trip later. (Just an idea.)

Have fun,
Dreams

What we did was use an empty tube (lime green :thumbsup2) from mini M&Ms and filled it with two quarters, one penny, two quarters, one penny...... It was great!

There are quarter machines too besides pennies. I can't believe how expensive they can get trying to collect them all! But I still do it anyways. lol.

You can definately get the kid's fanny packs in the Emporium and WoD. My favorite one is the Stitch one! He's so fuzzy. Don't know how much they cost though.

My 6 yo DD uses a fanny pack that I bought from Walmart. It has a mesh bottle holder which she uses for a small water bottle. It is meant for an adult but I cut the webbing and melted the ends with a match and made it smaller for my daughter. It is by no means huge but fits her pressed penny book and home made autograph book. She keeps her pennies and quarters in it. I let her keep a 35mm film container with the quarters and pennies in it. HTH!:)
