Hi there! I generally book thru Disney with a pin or discount and haven't had to spend much time on this part of the planning.

1- We are going at Christmas and I need to reduce the # of nights on our stay (staying at Dolphin). I have already booked our fast passes etc. Will reducing the # of nights in my reservation have any impact on my fastpasses for the remaining days?

2- I purchased "paper" tickets thru Disney. They are showing on My Disney Experience. Do I need to do anything to link them to my Magic Bands from prior trips, or if they are showing on MDE they are on the magic bands?

Thanks!

1. Your total days of FPs are based on the number of ticket entitlements that are linked to MDE.

2. Your MagicBands will provide the link to all the data in your MDE account: tickets and FPs.

Yes, I'm just confirming that my change wont impact my fastpass, ie I had to be an onsite guest to book when I did, and still will be, just want to be sure changing the hotel dates doesn't impact the remaining days fast passes...

You haven't described the change: are you reducing at the beginning or the end? When are your exact dates?

Either way, you won't lose them, you just won't be able to make any changes to them but it's hard to say which FPs can't be changed without knowing which date changes you are making.

Was staying 7 nights and now will stay 5, reducing 2 nights at the beginning of the stay. I can't think of why it would have an impact but I just want to be sure before I call and cancel 2 nights. The reservations people at Starwood etc obviously have no clue about fast passes for the remainder of my stay.

Reducing nights won't have an impact on your FPs because your tickets are still intact. Even if you canceled your complete reservation at 29 days before your first FP, your FPs remain.

Just be happy you didn't book at a fully owned Disney hotel. They no longer reduce the nights on a reservation without completely rebooking, subject to availability.

Is this true with the Swan and Dolphin as well? OP I would be sure before I allow them to change my ressie that they are not cancelling it completely prior to trying to rebook it. At that time of year it is likely there are no openings for the 5 days you want. Just be careful

I can't say for sure but since they aren't owned and operated by Disney, I assume they have their own booking policies.

The "no change" policy was started in late April. I only know that because it started a couple days before we needed to drop a couple nights from our reservation. Thankfully we could still book at the same rate, but lost our river view and ended up with pool view. Not a huge deal, but it would have been if they didn't have any pool view available. We did try to "catch" the nights we released, but were never able to find them available.
