2 questions about OKW

My first question is about bus noise...
We have stayed at OKW twice and notice how close the buses come to some of the buildings. Do you hear the bus noise? I would imagine you would. This would be a pretty big deal, I would think. I mean, near some bus stops, they turn around almost at building doorsteps! We request buildings not on bus routes, but would feel better if we didn't need to!

Second question...
I have seen pictures of refurbed 1br, but haven't seen them for studios. Did they refurb studios? I may have just overlooked this, but I figured I would ask the pros!

I would love to see picture of a refurbed studio. I will be there in the HH area from dec 13-17. Can't wait.

The refurbished studios are just as nondescript as the refurbished one bedroom villas and larger. They no longer look like OKW. They look like Old Beach Club West.

I've never noticed the bus noises anywhere that I stayed at OKW.

The only time I've really noticed bus noise was when we stayed in Bldg 44, on the end closest to Old Turtle Pond road.

Yes, the studios have been refurbished. I agree with Deb, the decor reminds me more of a beach resort than Victorian-style "Old" Key West. The granite counter is nice, though.

I've never had an issue with bus noise at OKW, but then we never stay in studios and when we are in 2 bedroom units, it is usually a dedicated on, so on the interior of the buildings. I've heard some complain about bus noise in buildings 20 and 52, but we have stayed in both of those and heard nothing. We did have a lock off 2 bedroom once in building 29 where the studio room is close to the road. There was a little bus noise there, but I can't say it was enough to bother me.

We lucked out on getting Building 55 our first time and requested an array of buildings our second time, waiting for a building off the bus route (22). We have been pleased with those buildings, so we will continue to request certain buildings. I just was wondering, just in case it's not possible.

Luckily it will be just me the next time I stay at OKW, and not my light sleeping mother!

Earlier this year I stayed in a studio in building 26 on the first floor, it had not yet been renovated. It was the end unit closest to the Peninsular Rd bus stop, probably 50-60 feet from the bus stop and you could definitely hear every bus loud and clear.
