1.) Champagne/wine- will they still serve them at a MK reception w/ the no alcohol policy?

2.) What dates are typically available for MK weddings? They say it must be on specific dates when the park will close early. As a teacher, I suspect that most of the dates available for MK weddings will be when I must work and will not be permitted a leave of absence.

Thanks!!!

(I still have about three years to figure all of this out!)

fyi - a magic kingdom wedding has a $52,000 minimum.

i believe the mk weddings would be in value season when the hours are shorter, january to mid february, late august to late september, november to to mid december. as for the alcohol i would think they would serve it for a wedding/private event. for exact details contact dftw.

They also aren't doing weddings in MK right now. There was talk that they would again in 2006 but nobody can confirm that.

Yup from my sources at the FTW department I can tell you that as of now they aren't taking any bookings for 2006 but this could still change and it is rumoured that MK wedding minimums will be way over the $52K mark, certainly something to think about.

Definitely a little pricey . . . but I like to know all my options in case a windfall comes my way. (Hey, I can dream! ;) ) Thanks for all the info!! :flower:

I always wished I was able to afford the MK wedding in front of the castle. But the fact that my fiance and I can have our pics taken in our wedding attire in front of the castle is the next best thing! And much cheaper! I am glad they at least have this option available :)

Never stop dreaming about that MK wedding as you say you just never know.

Mary I think its wonderful that brides can have the MK shoot - it does make it a tad more affordable indeed :)

LuLu, don't stop the plan of getting married at Disney! I started where you are also!! I've been a fanatic since '89!!! I did the MK thought at first, but then found out about other deals on the property!! We were married across the street from Downtown Disney! Instead of taking the rehearsal people to dinner, we took them to the spot that Micheal Eisner brings his family to watch Illuminations!!! That was my husbands and my favorite park! And, the wedding party LOVED it!!! Make it your own! Don't give up, just look for other optioins! MK is the most expensive though!!!!

Hi - can you reveal the secret spot's location?

RJ

Last year when I was planning my FTW vow renewal, I seriously considered switching it over to the Magic Kingdom when I realized how much money I was quickly spending. I actually discussed a Magic Kingdom dinner party location with my husband, and he told me to do whatever I wanted to do (after 20 years of marriage, he had learned that there's no stopping me when I get my heart set on something).

After a few sleepless nights, I decided to stick with the Disney-MGM Studios' Great Movie Ride's location. As lovely as a Magic Kingdom party would have been, I truly didn't think it would have been nearly as much fun as a progressive dinner party would have been inside the Great Movie Ride. Because of that simple fact, I decided to keep my plans as they were.

After having experienced a Great Movie Ride dinner party (my FTW VR was last October), I now know that I made the perfect decision for me. The Disney Streetmosphere characters were incredible -- the Producer, the Gangster & his Gun Moll, the Pianist, the Cowboy & Cowgirl, the Country Band, Glinda the Good Witch, and even Mickey Mouse himself. And the FTW & Disney Studios' staff did a beautiful job with decorating the venue and whipping up an incredible meal. There isn't one thing that I would have changed about my magical night.

I guess I'm sharing all this because Disney truly has locations that are perfect for everyone. If a Magic Kingdom party isn't in the stars for you, have no fear, there just might be something even more perfect waiting for you. I know that there was for me. I had the most incredible night of my life on the night of my 20th wedding anniversary, ~sigh.~
