The BBQ was eventful. Your quote about Josie "dynamite comes in small packages" was very true.Cayley had a very hard time at dinner.
Putting food in others drinks,throwing food not eating etc. So she did not get a special cupcake for desert or anything else to eat.
I am on the stricter side as a parent. She got a "free ride" until she was 2, now that she is 2.5 I have higher expectations. Manners are big with me. As well as respect. She is an extremely independent and stubborn child. She needs very tight boundaries-which I think she really wants. I am of the opinion that if you let them get away with things at 2 I can only imagine what they will do at 12
They are still going to bed later and sleeping in. Glad it is spring break this week. I cannot wake a sleeping child unless absolutely necesary.
I completely understand what you're going through. Josie is testing her boundries also. Sometimes I think we waited too long to have Josie. When your children are 5 years apart there are always two sets of rules. It can be difficult to parent them. One doesn't understand why the other does/does not have to do certain things.
Josie is very independent and stubborn also. I have seen her be so persistant that she has made herself sick. I don't know where she gets her stubborness from.
It has lasted more years than it should but now is really not the time...
We also do "thinking chair" for Cayley-2 and "thinking time" for Avery the almost 5. If you don't teach it at 2 I can only imagine what it could be like at 12....Congrats on the house sale!
