2 parties sharing a room - how to keep room charges separate?

We are 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids are hers and I am their solo cousin. We will be sharing a om and I love the room charge feature. It makes life so simple inthe parks. Is there a way to keep my room charges separate from theirs? Or do I need to just carry $$ to the parks? Or do I need to keep up with my receipts and settle at the front desk periodically? Of course, it will be hard not to get separate checks at restaurants, making it even interesting. What have you done about this?
I guess I'm hoping the desk will keep it broken down by room key.

We've always been told that only one credit card per room can be used. So you probably will have to keep track of your receipts.

Ok, we can leave one card and the other person settle with cash along the way, but can they itemize the bill by room key?
I know they only charge the credit card if you exceed your limit or don't pay at checkout.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think your bill shows the card number used (each card has a different number), location where it was used, date, and amount. You could go down the list and add up yours vs. theirs. Or, save your receipts and total it up that way.

We own DVC and frequently travel with large groups and we simply hang onto receipts. We usually request a copy of our bill every couple of days to track who has spent what, and settle up and the end of the trip.

Our bills have always showed which key was used for a purchased.

If your cousin is not interested in charging on the room key you alone can get the charge privileges. I, too, am DVC and periodically have friends along. Their keys always state they cannot be used for charging. The only problem comes in when phone calls are made from the room as those charges will be on the bill.

If you are planning on paying Disney separately before you leave, you can do that but be careful. Disney will charge the credit card used to secure the room on the early morning of your departure if you use Express Checkout. You should go to the front desk the night before you depart and get the printout of the room charges. Then after you add up all the charges you made, you can have Disney either charge your own credit card for the total amount of your individual charges or you can pay them cash.

You can get an itemized list of room charges each day from the front desk if you want. Sometimes it's easier to track charges (and any billing mistakes) doing it that way.

Please ask the CM at the registration desk to put your key on your own card and the other adult key on their card. Yes, they can do it! I have done it twice, once for my sister and once when it was a friend. It works perfectly. I guess people don't know that they can do it this way.

Use one credit card for all of your purchases. Save all receipts, then total up what you owe and write the other party a check.

Mickeyfan, That is great! I will definitely try that first. Otherwise, sounds like we may be checking the itemized room charges periodically.
