OK..

First question:

We are finally going to do the Hoop-Dee-Doo-Review (using 2 TS credits), as we are not going to redeem any dining on the first night-we get in late the first day/night. They dont allow to redeem Dining plan credits for Tier 1 seating during the earlier shows. I was thinking the 7:15 would be perfect. It looks like Tier 2 seating is all the way in the back and the back balcony... Tier 3 is on the 2nd floor. Can you still see the show sitting upstairs? I cant seem to find specific pictures, although i did see how it is set up.. and it seems if you sit on the 2nd floor (at a round table?) how can everyone see the stage?

Second question:

We also decided maybe trading in another 2 TS credits and eating at a Signature restaraunt. I am torn, not sure where to eat? :confused3
I always wanted to try the California Grill.. but then Norcossees has Lobster on the menu. (something I normally wouldnt get at a restaraunt - too expensive) ive heard mixed reviews on Norcossees. saying the food has gone downhill. I read mostly positive reviews on CG. We're also travleing with 2 picky eaters. My friend and my Mom both are "the normal - steak and potatoes-pasta" kind of people.

What do you think is the better experience? Another thing, it says CG is "resort casual" hmmmm? That makes me wonder.. I usually only pack flip-flops and a pair of sneakers. I dont want to go to a place where I have to dress up. A lot of the Signature places call for business casual/resort casual. Yachtsman Steakhouse even says no tee shirts or flipflops. I could bring a nice pair of capri pants and a polo or button down shirt. I just dont wanna pack more shoes.

Can someone explain exactly what Resort Casual is? What is appropriate?

If anyone has any other suggestions on a good signature meal, would be great to hear!

Thanks guys!

For HDDR you can see from the upper level. The table up there aren't round they are long (rectangular) and there is only sitting on 1 side. Your back is to the stage while dining and then you turn around during the show. The view is fine and the performers do go upstairs to include everyone.

I have not been to CaliGrill or Narcossee's but we are trying Narcossees next month. The lobster on the menu has lured us. The dress code for both these places is no cutoffs, tank tops, flipflopsetc. For this dinner my DD and I are taking casual dresses and DH is wearing linen shirt and pants.

Re: HDDR

We were in Tier 2, on the floor, all the way back by the entrance. No problems at all seeing anything (with the exception of the balcony directly above us). The chairs swivel, so you can spin toward the stage at any time.

We went to YS last summer and I wore a nice pair of capri pants, a button down shirt and my tennis shoes. I had knee surgery a few months before and there's no way I can wear any kind of heels and I didn't really want to wear dressy shoes either as it was just too uncomfortable. There were people dressed just like me as well as some in business casual and dressier. I think as long as you don't show up in your swimsuit and look decent, no one else would pay much attention. DD13 wore some nice dress pants and blouse along with a low heel. She changed into her tennis shoes going back to the parks however.

We also ate at Narcoosee's and it was fantastic. I liked it better than YS because we went late and were able to see Wishes after finishing dinner.

Unless you are on the DXDP, I "Personally" would not do 2 signature meals. I think HDDR would be enough and you can find LOTS of nice restaurants on 1 credit - Coral Reef, Tutto Italia, Chef's de France, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, just to name a few. However, if you do choose signature, I can only vouch for YS and Narcoosee's for signature dining as those are the only two we have tried thus far and really liked both. And I believe we'll be going back to both of those again in a future trip.

Thank you guys for all the input.

I have some time to decide, since i cant make ADRs till June.

HDR is a definite.. another signature, still not sure of.

We are doing Tutto and Teppan Edo (something new)... as an alternative to doing LeCellier every trip.

Still up in the air about Norcossees or CG. The way i look at it, how bad can the food be? I'm sure its really good at any of these places. I have to learn not to pay too much attention to "reviews".
