Is it possible to do Epcot & MGM in one day? DD (4 yrs old) is not very interested in Epcot but we hope to do the PSB & then maybe some kidscots in WS. That is all I planned. We will probably only do the shows (Beauty & Ariel) at MGM. Can this all be done in one day? We realize this trip is for DD only so dh & I will not be trying to do all the fun "older kid" stuff until DD is older!
Is it easy to get from Epcot to MGM?
Or do we plan 2 days & have afternoons to relax back at the pool or spending more time at either park if DD ends up loving stuff we did not realize she would love?
Input needed!!!
Thanks,
Erin

hi, last year we did mgm and ak in one day and it was pretty rushed. i think epcot & mgm could be done more easily if you don't spend a lot of time lollygagging around the world showcase like i do. you can take wdw bus transportation from the two parks and its not far and doesn't take too long.

IF you keep in mind that the trip is solely for the 4 year old, then you may be able to do it. Epcot is definately geared for the older crowd (meaning over 9-10). Many things at MGM would fall into this same catagory, so I would say that you could do it.

Just avoid the temptation to drift towards things that look interesting to you that she wouldn't like. If she's like our nephews, she'll be more than vocal about things in which she has no interest. :teeth:

I could do it if it wasn't for World Showcase. If you're a World Showcase fiend like I am, I wouldn't recommend it.

If you're only doing a handful of things, you can certainly go to two parks in one day.

Keep in mind that unless you have a really late ps for the breakfast World Showcase will not be open when you finish. I'm also not sure that the Kidcot stations open immediately either. I would not rule out other Epcot attractions -- as I used to say to my kids, how do you know you won't like something if you've never done it? My youngest son was almost 5 his first trip and the only thing at Epcot he hated was Honey I Shrunk the Audience although he had some misgivings about Energy and Spaceship Earth. Although he didn't find them exciting, he was fine with things like the land ride. He really liked Imaginum (living statues) and Miyuki (candy sculptor) and was fascinated (still is) with Ice Station Cool. Also, there are LOTS of characters at Epcot.

At MGM, I would at least add Muppet Vison 4D to your list if not Indiana Jones, Great Movie Ride and Star Tours. If she's ever seen Millionaire on TV, she might enjoy that, too.

I could possibly squeeze MGM and AK in one day but not Epcot and MGM. Not me...

I agree totally with this- and it's exactly how we did it. We needed the whole day during low season to experience Epcot for sure.

Erin,

We went last April with 2 3/4 yr DD and just turned 5 yr DS. We spent about 6 hours in each park and saw quite a bit. At Epcot we went to most of the Future world, and did the rides in Mexico and Norway of WS. They were frightened a little by the dinosaurs and noise of the Energy exhibit. They loved "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" in Imagination, and liked "Food Rocks" in The Land (warning - it is loud).

The biggest problem we had at MGM was correctly timing the shows (poor planning on our part) - seems like we would just miss a lot of things. Our kids liked "Playhouse Disney" the best by far. They also enjoyed "Ariel", "The Muppets", "Beauty and the Beast". They stayed a long time in the play area in the back of the park - near the Muppets and Commissary restuarant. The Ariel show did have one scene were king Triton is upset which was loud and scared DD. They were bored by The Backlot Tour and the Indiana Jones Stunt Show.

Does you DD still nap - maybe if she gets tired she could sleep for a short while in the stroller - definitely get a stroller, even if she insists she is a big girl. Epcot especially has just too much ground to cover. A stroller will conserve her energy. If you have two days that would be better, but you know your daughter best. If you are pressed for time, you may consider skipping Epcot altogether - she'll probably not would miss much (although you may).

Plan ahead - depending on when you travel FW may close as early as 7:00pm, WS at 9:00, and I think MGM sometime closes at 8:00 or 8:30. You will need to allow an hour and a half or more transfer time between the two resorts. Have a great trip.

Jeff
