2 or 3 days?

We had planned on going to DL June 7-9. We are heading north to the San Francisco and Sacremento areas right after to visit family. My question is, do you think we could get away with only going to DL for two days and be able to see/do everything? My dd is 6 and my ds is 3 (who isn't 40" yet) and my husband and I are going. We have a charcter meal on the 7th and one on the 8th. I think I have decided since I have done the DL and WDW (WDW fairly recently), I'm going to let DH do the thrill rides with dd. That way DS and I can do the things he wants to do without having to wait around for DD and DH to finish riding the rides.

Next question is, of those that have been there on these dates...just how crowded is it? I haven't been to DL since I was 5 (25 years ago...OUCH!).

Last question: Can you use your cell phones in the park? We plan on using ours (if we can) to touch base with each other.

We just got back with our 2yo (who is 35.5 inches) and we were there for 5 days, but if we had to, we could have squeezed it all into 2 days. But I should add that the place was empty while we were there so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. We were in the parks Sunday-Thursday and Wednesday was practically a ghost town. No ride ever had a wait over 20 minutes on Sunday (the most crowded day we were there), but of course the ones that did were the kiddie rides that you'd be doing with your son (like Peter Pan, Dumbo, and Monsters, Inc.). We also did some character meals, and if you schedule them before park opening then you can maximize your time. Also, if you have early entry to DL that will help you knock out all that Fantasyland stuff early on before the crowds hit. Toontown Morning Madness was a good way to see Mickey and friends without big lines so if you have a ticket for that I would use it if your kids are into photos with the characters. We got ours from AAA but not sure if that's the only way.

We went in August 2 years ago and that wasn't bad, but definitely much more crowded (last week of August so some schools were back, but not all so there were still decent crowds). I think 3 days would have been necessary at that time of year.

Not sure how June compares to either May or August though so maybe someone else can help with that.

Oh, and yes, you can use cell phones in the park. My husband and I used ours when he'd go on a thrill ride and I'd take my daughter somewhere else.

I would do 3 days if at all possible. Two days if going to be hard to see and do everything. You will feel rushed, especially if you want to see all the shows, ride the rides, have character meals and give the kids some down time.

Cell phones are a great way to keep in touch in the park. Just be sure you turn the ringer off (set to vibrate) so you dont get calls in the middle of a ride.

We'll be there almost the same time - June 8-10 (three nights, leaving Sunday AM to head for the long ride home). We were lucky enough to get the Balcony seating for Fantasmic one night we are there. After 19 trips to WDW, this should be fun.

With kids you will want 3 days. I know I feel jipped if we go for less then that.

One word of warning, early June MANY elementry schools have end of year field trips to Disneyland. This makes the parks VERY CROWDED during the day.
