Ok! So we arrive to SNA at 1pm on Saturday, November 14. I know that's the weekend of Avengers marathon, so it will be busy. We'll be taking Super Shuttle to our motel (Super 8 on Katella), and check in is at 3pm. My question is, would it be worth it to use that as a park day? If the park closes at 11pm or midnight, I think that would be a lot of park time we could potentially have.

What do y'all think? I'm leaning towards yes (let's see if I can convince DH haha) but if it does for some reason close earlier than 11pm, I just don't think it would be worth it.

Disneyland very rarely closes before 11:00 pm on Saturdays, even during the non-peak season. That being said, they won't post the hours for November 14 until about 6-week/45-days in advance, so you won't know until early October. Avenger's weekend Saturday night was very busy last year (2014) and I would expect it to be busy this year as well. Along with being the marathon weekend, it was also the official start to the Holiday season, which brings in guests. I still think it's possible to have fun. As long as you know it'll be busy, you can temper your expectations and focus on what things you want to do.

I would definitely go on Sat! The more days the better. Like figment_jii said as long as you go in with the expectation that it will be busy you can still have a great time. You can get in around 8 hours of Disney Magic and even if you only get in a few rides you can still take in the atmosphere, maybe plan a meal you wouldn't do when it's less crowded (don't want to miss those short ride lines), browse the shops, watch the nighttime entertainment, etc.

That's very true..I think I've been convinced (admittedly not that hard to do :P) to go Saturday as well. Yay 3 days instead of 2! That just makes me even more excited. Hopefully we'll at least be able to do 3 rides that first night!

I would go, BUT I would ADD it to your trip, not do it instead of Monday. Most (if not all?) of the fast passes will likely be gone before you get into the park. I would make it a "smell the roses" type of day and take in the parade and fireworks. And bonus, with the 3 day ticket, you'll get a Magic Morning available to you on Sunday!

Oh it's definitely added to our trip, not instead of Monday! :) I'm thinking maybe the less popular rides will still have some fast passes available- Grizzly is one of our favorites, I would love to do that Saturday, with an extra change of clothes in my bag of course! So maybe we'll just spend the evening in California Adventure and leave Disneyland for Sunday early morning!
