I am thinking of booking one night with a ticket and deluxe meal plan, and the other night just room at the same resort. Do you think we will be able to keep our same room? I would only do this if this is the case.
You can link the 2 reservations together and put a request on the first one to keep the same room, but unfortunately, it's not guaranteed. Disney does everything they can to accommodate, but it is just a request.
I'm pretty sure the Disney Dining Plans require a minimum 3-night stay, and a minimum 1-day base MYW ticket for everyone in the same room. You couldn't get Deluxe Dining for just one night's reservation. FreeDining requires a minimum 2-day base MYW ticket for everyone in the same room.
We are not getting free dining. we are only going a couple days and we are going when free dining is not an option. We have done many 2 night stays with the dining plans even single night stays.
Right I had no intentions for free dining. I think we are going to stick with both nights on a plan. I want to be able to get up and go to the park in the am and joy worry about checking in and out. Thanks everyone.
We have done this twice... both times club level though... and never had a problem. In fact they simply slipped the new key under our door in the morning. (It was there at 6am.) I'm not sure it will always work but I know with the amount that you pay for CL it was something I would have expected for them to work out for us.
