We only have two more sleeps before we'll be off to Disneyland for our very first visit!!! We're SO excited! :cool1:

I wanted to say thank you to everyone on the thread; without you all I don't think I would feel nearly as prepared. We now understand MM, character meals, and have our AG reservations for the WoC 9:00 show, which I don't think I would have been able to figure out on my own. So thank you, thank you everyone! You all have really initiated the pixie dust for our trip

Is there any last minute advice you would give to a newbie family like us..? Any favorite tip we should take into consideration?

Again, thanks so much everyone! We can't wait to finally be at Walt's park! :goodvibes

Not sure what exactly it is called or how many days you have, but there is this show they put on in front of the castle in the morning. It has the band and mickey and a few other characters. They also played a little of Walt's speech. I wouldn't miss it on my first visit. After the show Mickey leads the band down Main St. Cute and touching.

I just got back from my first trip. Here were my favorite tips that we used:

If you have a specific character you want to meet, you can ask at City Hall or ask any of the CM's wearing a special pin on their shirt. You can't miss the pin, it says "Ask me about characters." We definitely did this a few times.

If you want to do Fantasyland rides without long lines, other than during a MM of course, try going at night once FL has reopened after fireworks. I'm pretty sure I read that from one of Hydroguy's posts, and it was great. We walked onto Dumbo and the Teacups.

Another place to easily catch characters for a meet and greet is at Drawn to the Magic in Hollywood Studios Backlot at DCA. After each show, whichever 3 characters are on stage will come down in front of the audience benches and you can line up to meet them. You usually only have time for one before they stop allowing people in the lines, but we managed to be fifth or sixth to meet Snow White and were able to hop in Peter Pan's line also.

I don't know if these will help you at all, but I was extremely happy that I knew about them, so I'm passing them along. :goodvibes

Have fun!!!!

Last minute tips I would give are: make sure you have plenty of sunscreen and chapstick, clean pennies for the penny presses, list of everyone's 'one thing I must do at Disneyland', moleskin and peppermint foot lotion, ibuprofen, sunglasses and a camera!:thumbsup2 Have a great time! When you go into the parks, grab a map or two for your scrapbook! This also makes planning your next trip easier! :rotfl2:

One tip -- take advantage of the photopass photogs. We didn't our first trip and realized my husband was rarely in the photos. :) I recommend keeping the first card you get handy so all your photos go on the same card and just in case -- take a photo of the card number with your cell phone (if possible) so if you lose the card you don't lose your memories. :)
