Help I need some advice -we have lived together for a couple of years now and don't need any housy stuff so we want to have our honeymoon as our wedding list... problem is the wedding is in November and the party end of January!!

Can I send the invites out early Sept including the wedding list?? Or is that a bit odd?? People will be RSVPing for a party 3 months away - although at least their diaries will be free!

I know you're supposed to send invites 6 weeks before events - but that makes December - which is a nightmare as it's so busy coming up to xmas and we'll have just got back from Disney and need a rest! And if I send them then the honeymoon will already have happened! bang goes the wedding list...

Any ideas??

You could send out wedding invites 6-8 weeks before wedding, and word it something like this : reception to follow in January, more information to come. Then send out reception invites later. As for the honeymoon request, I wouldn't put that info in the official invite, leave it to word of mouth or put it on your website. Some may find it offensive to put gift requesting on the invite... or so I've been told. DF and I also live together, and what we really need is a down payment for a house! So we are going to spread the word through family and our website that we would like cash gifts. Plus, we aren't going to register for anything, which will also tell people that we want cash. Hope this helps!
