TO all you Canadian Disboarders!!!

I know the economy is bad right now and our exchange rate to the USA is a little rough, so I thought id share with you 2 little tips I learned this morning to possibly save you some money on your DL trip. This might be common knowledge with other travel agents too but I am at least trying. Soooo I was just at Flight Center with a friend of mine this morning as she is planning on going to Disneyland with her family in April, and I was looking into park hopper passes for my trip in May. Well my friend has been looking at different packages online on such sites as Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Bookit.com and has found some just OK deals. Well

#1: flight center told us that if you go to any website such as the ones above and you find a flight and hotel package, or even a flight or hotel separately, then bring them the info and they will beat it for you. Just make sure the site is not an auction site like Redtag

#2: There are many of us who want up to 8 day hoppers to DL. Besides the Disneyland Resort, Flight Center is one of the very scarce places that sell up to 8 day hoppers. They also charge you in Canadian funds so you dont have to worry about the exchange rate.

Here is an example of what your saving:
8 day hopper pass with tax for 1 adult (Including one magic morning) will be $236 apposed to $260 if you purchased through the Disneyland Resort which is the only other place who sells 8 day tickets.

ALSO when buying your 8 day hoppers through Flight Center you get your voucher immediately, and dont have to pay the shipping fees, where as with the Disney Resort, you have to pay for shipping, and the voucher comes 3 weeks before your trip (NO SOONER). So with Flight Center it is less hassle, less money, and less worry about your tickets not showing up in the mail before your trip.

Yep, I found out about Flight Centre by accident this past August - was looking for one cheap flight to LA/Disneyland (we booked the 2 others on Aeroplan points). We bought our 8 day hoppers from them and were very satisfied. You just bring your printout to the gates and exchange them for your passes. I also liked the fact that we paid CAD.

I know, I am bubbling that I am saving on hopper passes. I am very used to the voucher thing so tix through Flight Center is a no brainer.

When I looked at their website I only found the tickets that were part of the "kids price" promotion. I assume since you got tickets for May they sell tickets that are good after the end of April in store?

Yeah those ticket prices were for after the promo of everyone plays for the childrens price. You can either call them up and they will email the voucher to you, or they will give it to you instore. :)

We just got our three day park hopper passes from BCAA in Victoria. It was a great deal, also in Canadian Funds, and now I am excited enough to be bouncing off the walls - Just like Tigger.:yay:

I wish I had known this before I booked our trip...oh well I'll use it for the next one :thumbsup2

Mystic - 2 questions:
1) do they offer tix w/o booking flights? We may have to do our flights, and maybe hotel too, with RBC travel points, since cash may be a little scarce....

2) how exactly does the 'voucher' thing work? Do you get in line at the ticket booth at DL to trade them in for the actual parkhoppers? Do they get activated the day you get them, or the day you actually use them to get into the parks? Will they keep selling the 8 day passes, or is it just a transition thing because dl.com just nixed them?

Ok, so that was more than 2 questions... sorry....:worship:

#1: YES YES YES!!!! :thumbsup2 That the glory of it. You can purchase your tickets separately from you flight and hotel. You can just walk in, ask to buy some Disneyland passes without purchasing anything else, and they hook you up.

#2: Yep you got the voucher thing totally correct. When you go with a voucher to get your tickets it means that your tickets are electronically transferred from the company you bought them from, to Disneyland. You do not get your actual park ticket until you get to Disneyland. Vouchers are a sale confirmation document printed by the company you are buying your tickets from. You take that document to the ticket booth at Disneyland, show them your ID and the card you paid for the tickets with and the Disneyland Ticket booth in Anaheim will give you your proper tickets there. Its very simple.

The tickets are not activated until you get them from the ticket booth, and then head to the parks main gate for the first time, and they swipe you in. I believe they expire 14 days after the first use. And as far as I know Flight Center is not getting rid of the 8 day pass. At least they say that they have no plans to at the current moment. As for buying them straight through Disney. I didnt go to the Disneyland website, I called up a certain number. ((Looks around)) I will get back to you on the phone #. I dont seem to have it with me at the moment.

Mystic - you are awesome!:worship:

Thanks for the great info - it will make our *possible* trip so much easier if we have the flexibility of going to the parks when we wish, instead of when we are "allowed" to go. For example, we arrive in LAX by 10am on a Saturday, and I would love to just hit the parks at midafternoon, possibly go for a nice dinner, ride a few FP rides, check out the parade, etc... We wouldn't be able to make a full "commando" day of it, but it would maximize the time at Disney. After all, who flies all this way to DL only to sit in the hotel room for 3 days? I would love the flexibility to go to the parks whenever I want...even just for a few hours.

Thanks again, and once our income tax issues are sorted out, I will definitely be calling Flightcenter. :cheer2:  :cheer2:   :yay:

:) No problem. I am happy to help. I mean I appreciate any kinda money saving info too, so no problem at all. I understand how its nice to be able to spend even a few hours in the park if you can. I always buy an 8 day hopper so the day I fly home I can at least spend about 4 hours in the park before I go home. I mean 7 and 8 day hoppers are the same amount, so why not get the time in when you can.
