I noticed one of the little weirdo spiders I like so much. The photo doesn’t do it justice- it is teeny & has very bright colors. It is called a crab-like spiny orb weaver. I know a little bit about spiders because, well- you all know about the “know your enemy” thing. :rolleyes1

It took me FOREVER standing on my toes to get a photo of this guy through the trees! My camera kept focusing on everything BUT the vulture. This bird was GIGANTIC. I wish it came across in the photo.

Your pictures are all amazing!

I don't I've ever seen so many pictures of the Tree of Life.

MMMM... Boma. I'm sure if anyone in the bathroom is on the Dis they will understand seeing the flash go off in the bathroom.

The Wave looks really good. I am glad to know to check out the bar menu before heading in. I never really thought about it having different items.

I  all of the pictures from the Boardwalk area. We have never checked that area out so we are going to stay at the Beach Club for the weekend on our next trip. YAY!

popcorn::

Breakfast at Boma looks deeeeelish! Makes me wish I was a breakfast person. I prefer my breakfast at dinner....yes, I'm weird but that's when I like it. Matter of fact, made it for dinner two nights ago.

As far as taking a picture of the bathroom tiles, you know I don't think you're weird. I take pictures of bathrooms whenever I can. One year, Lacey and I had a running joke of me taking pictures of her feet under the bathroom stalls.

I hate that you had to waste over an hour getting your APs straightened out. But, like you said, it wasn't really anybody's fault that it took so long and they were trying to get the situation fixed for you.

I just love love love all of your Tree of Life pictures. I think that the trails around the base of the tree are the hidden treasures of the Animal Kingdom.

I'm here. Now I have go back and read and catch up.

Okay; I'm all caught up.

I was exhausted watching your walk down the hallway to you room. I had to take a short nap.

We've not been to Universal since 2004 (and probably won't be going back), but I do remember the food being awful. We do like to drive to City Walk and go to Emeril's every couple of years.

The food at Yachtsman looks really good (that steak has me drooling).

You have more patience than me. I got upset when they forgot to put my "tickets" on our key cards and it took 20 minutes to straighten it out.

We love Boma too...it is our favorite noncharacter breakfast thus far.

Your pics of AK are terrific.

:lmao::rotfl2: That is SO true...if any Disboards people were in the restroom, they would know EXACTLY why I took the photo!

You will get hooked on staying in that area. It is so convenient!

I was thinking of how you would be one of the only people who would understand a camera flash in the ladies room as I was taking that photo!
Thanks for the tip about the Tree of Life Trails!!! I'm so glad you told me about them. I really enjoyed walking through them & seeing all of the animals.

Yay! I'm happy you are here!! I'ver never been to Emeril's. What kind of food do they have?? City Walk looks like so much fun. I would love to get over there & check it out some night. I always just walk through.
Yachtsman was VERY good. I loved it!
Thanks!

After the safari, we went over to Expedition Everest. On the way I HAD TO stop to get one of my vegetable egg rolls. I LOVE them! I pretty much inhaled that & soon we were on EE. We used the fast pass from the snafu with my AP for this one. I love EE. That ride is so awesome. After EE, my stepmom got an ice cream & waited for me to ride again through the single rider line. We went over to Dinosaur & used the FP for that ride, too. I’m glad we had the FP because the line was LONG. When we got into the loading area, I understood why the line was so long…they had one side of the loading area all blocked off. They were only using one side. Now- EVERY single time I ride this, I get SOOO scared of the big Dinosaur. I know it isn’t real & I know exactly when he pops up in the ride, but every ride photo is of me flipping out. I should have bought it this time. I didn’t take any more AK photos. I have no idea why.
We left the park after Dinosaur. We rode on one of the new trams with doors.

I was so anxious to get to EPCOT…because it was EMH that night!!! I tried to get a photo of every menu & booth at the F & W. Some are a little blurry…probably because I was a little blurry.
We walked into EPCOT through the International Gateway.

We decided to go around WS in the UK direction.

IMG_0640.jpg

One thing I was VERY happy about this year (I didn’t notice until I asked a question about an item & then someone pointed it out to me) is that they put a green V next to all of the vegetarian items! You might notice it in some of the photos of the menus. I always feel like a doofus asking about everything, so I was really happy for that. Plus when people find out I’m Vegetarian, they start to attack me about it. I NEVER have given anyone a hard time about eating meat, but I have taken SO much crap for NOT eating it. I make it a point to NOT tell people now! Ok- back on topic!
IMG_0641.jpg

Another thing that I noticed this year is that every booth or kiosk is themed & designed to represent the country the food is from. They are all different!

How did I not know that you had started your trip report????? I can't believe your up to page 4 already.

Some quick thoughts before I get caught online at work.

Eek on the walk to your room! I think we had the same walk at the Beach Club this trip. We were at the second to last room in the hallway. We were very nearly in the Yacht Club. A few nights that walk was feeling awfully long.

The food at the Yachtsman looks wonderful!

I was dissappointed about Rip Ride Rocket too. You can't miss seeing it there, and then to find out it was shut down. From what I've been hearing they don't even have an eta for when it will be back up again. We definitely have similar taste in rides. I love doing all the rollercoasters and stuff too. :thumbsup2

In the pictures from outside the Mummy ride, that is a pretty buff egyptian on the stilts in those pictures. Sadly I didn't see him walking around when I was there.

Universal was quiet like than while I was there too. It was wonderful!

And lastly, I do the same thing with my food porn pictures. I always start eating, and then I'd realize I forgot to take the picture. :rotfl:

I'm glad you found my TR! I was SO bummed about RRR- it must have been a sudden thing because it wasn't listed as a planned rehab. I wonder what happened or what is wrong with it to be closed for so long. Rollercoasters are my stress relief!
I'm anxious to read more about your time at Universal/IOA to see what you thought of HP!!!

Thanks for sharing the menus from F&W. We've never been (hopefully we'll be there for it next year) and it's nice seeing some of the offerings.

The pumpkins are spectacular. I don't know the characters because I've never heard of the show/movie, but you did an awesome job.

We really wanted some food (lunch- we slept LATE that morning), so we stopped by Earl of Sandwich. The line literally wrapped around the entire place. We did not feel like waiting, so we walked over to Rainforest Café. I am a Safari Club member, so I knew we wouldn’t wait long. We ended up just sitting at the bar to eat. There were NO people there!

I ended up Getting a Veggie burger & fries and my stepmom got some kind of chicken sandwich & fries. She said hers was very good. Mine was ok & the fries were kinda crappy. It doesn’t matter, though- I love the atmosphere of that place.

We checked in on the 4th floor, then we went up to the restaurant & waited for our table. We were only there for about 10 minutes when the manager stopped by & said she noticed that we had been waiting for a while and that she would seat us immediately. We were only one table away from the window facing the Magic Kingdom. It was a great view.

I then had the Roasted Heirloom Beets, Fennel, Citrus, Spiced Pecans, Beet Vinaigrette, and Belle Chèvre “Croutons” and the House-made Potato and Cheese Ravioli with Florida Corn Purée, Summer Squash, Vidalias, and Black Truffle. Both were awesome, but that corn puree was spectacular.

IMG_0799.jpg

My stepmom got the Oak-fired Filet of Beef with “Loaded” Mashed Potatoes, Broccolini, and Teriyaki Barbecue Sauce.
