Can someone tell me if this is true that it take 2+ hrs to eat a 3 course sig meal?

I have only eaten at Narcoossee's and thought it took more like 75 minutes

DH and I eat at a lot of nicer restaurants at home but could not care less about pacing.

Do you think if we mentioned this to the servers it would go a little faster?

We have ADR's at Jiko, FF, CG (which I expect would) and AP. Unless it's a 12 course tasting menu I have no idea why it would take 2+ hrs to eat. To each their own though :goodvibes

I don't think it takes two hours unless the guests want it to take two hours. We ate at over 21 TS restaurants last year at Disney (some were signature restaurants) and none of them took that long.

However, some of the signature restaurants provide a view of the fireworks and guests will stall or delay leaving so they can see the fireworks.

I have been to all of the restaurants you list on multiple occasions. Two hours is on the long side for a meal at any of those restaurants (even at CG, where you can easily get out in 2 hours, but people often linger to see the fireworks). You can stretch the meal out that long if you want and you can certainly make it go faster than that if you want.

I have had very long meals at FF, CG and Jiko because I wanted to! When i'm in Orlando for business I go to Disney for the dining experience. Now if I am there on vacation I don't want to spend my time on long meals. I enjoy the wine tasting at Jiko and CG mostly so I relax and stretch it out. Also at CG people tend to linger to watch fireworks.

I would think you could determine the course of your meal on your own.

All our meals were about 60-75 minutes. Our character breakfasts and lunch were all 60 minutes but we were in no rush. The signature meals (California Grill, Citrocos, Narcoosees, Jiko) were all about 60 to 75 minutes once seated but we didn't linger forever with DH, DW, and DS4. But I wouldn't say we ate in a rush either. And that's appetizers, entrees, and desserts; and wine at 2 of them.

I always expect to spend about 90 minutes at meal in one of the signature restaurants - two hours would be stretching it unless it was a larger group.

60-90 minutes is more likely for most places. CG might be longer due to people lingering for fireworks (better to go outside on the balcony, people - you'll see MUCH better!!!). You can take longer or you can eat faster. If you get apps and dessert it will obviously take longer than just apps and entree or entree and dessert, etc.

If I remember none lasted longer than an hour and a half of that with 3 courses and that's only for signatures.

Thanks! Because it's just the two of us and we aren't big wine or coffee lingerers I hope we are on the 60-90 minute end.

We've done three courses at Narcoossee's, Citricos, California Grill, and Brown Derby. We never spend 2 hours--more like 75-90 minutes. We do have 3 kids, and we usually eat dinner on the early side. I'm sure you COULD make it last longer if you wanted to though.

I agree. 90 minutes is normal for us, any longer seems like a lot. V+A's though definitely took us a full 3 hours and was amazing!!

I agree - it can take 2 hours but it doesn't have to.

If you're interested in a leisurely meal, let your server know you're not in a hurry and it will probably turn out to be close to 2 hours. Especially if you have pre-ordering drinks and an after-dinner cappuccino.

If you'd rather get out quicker, your waiter will be happy to work with you on that too. In those cases, I'd expect to spend about 75 minutes dining.

I agree with the 60-90 min time frame for three courses plus wine/drinks. If you want it paced more towards the 60min end you can absolutely ask. The servers at the signature restaurants were very accommodating to us especially when they noticed that DH and I were rather fast eaters they def picked up the pace!
