2 guys, a mom and the mouse. NOW COMPLETED!!! PIC INTENSIVE TR.

Im really lovin the TR but man I am horrible at waiting:rolleyes1
I am looking forward to more pictures as it is getting me through until we are at DL this coming Thursday.
Looks like you had a blast and you have inspired me to take alonger trip some time soon and make it a point to eat at a different spot in the resort every day........we usually eat at some of our faves and have become stuck in that pattern seeing as how we always know what to expect but I really want to branch off that path now and go food exploring through DL :goodvibes

Can't wait for more pictures and more report:thumbsup2

I thought I should do this now before something came up.

PART 5 !

After leaving HM we headed to Frontierland for a ride on BTMRR. I love this ride. It was my first roller coaster! I really enjoy riding it in the morning and feeling the crisp morning breeze hit my face as our train speeds away down the track.

On our way to Frontierland we spotted Mickey...

Did you see him? Let me get in closer.

I love how visual this ride is.

100_2530.jpg

FOR YOUR SAFETY... THERE IS TO BE NO PARTYING ON BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN RAILROAD.

100_2535.jpg

At this point we park hopped over to DCA and headed straight to Soarin as the rest of the park was not open yet. I love that they got Patrick Warburton to do the preshow video. I love his voice! I wish I could sound like that.

After a quick flight on Soarin (forgot to take pictures... this ride scares me a little due to the lack of heavy duty restraints, so my mind was elsewhere.)... we headed to Paradise Pier!

100_2536.jpg

We headed straight to Screamin, I don't do normal ferris wheels let alone the Fun Wheel, and TSMM was packed. We walked on to Screaming with a 10 minute wait.

Once we got off CS, we decided to head to Chris420's favorite ride... Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!

Along the way, we realized we were hungry, so we stopped in Candy Corn Acres and had a bite, that is until Farmer Goofy kicked us out of his Candy Corn Corn patch.

I have a love hate relationship with TOT. I love the visual aspect of the ride, but it also takes some of my greatest fears and combines them. I am claustrophobic and don't do well in normal elevators, I hate heights, and I hate the feeling of dropping. Despite the fact that I always get off the ride a little weak in the knees, I still love it.

100_2539.jpg

100_2540.jpg

I have found the TOT is much more enjoyable if I do not hold on to the handles. I love the feeling of weightlessness and having a little bit of air time

After getting off TOT, we walked through the GCH entrance into DCA and headed towards the DLH to pick up my mother. Once she was set and ready to go we took the monorail into the park and hopped on the train at Tommorowland station.

My mother loves the train. So do I... something about it just reeks of classic Disneyland!

We saw my favorite train conductor... His name is Robert. I have ridden with him several times now and he is so much fun to talk to. He is pretty nerdy, which is why I think I like him. He remembered me this time, so I felt special. I love the fact that I have cast members that recognize me.

After a grand circle tour of the original magic kingdom we headed to lunch at Cafe Orleans. (One of my favorite restaurants in the DLR)

Pommes Frites - Traditional French-fried potatoes tossed with Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley, served with a Cajun spice remoulade... delicious as always!

100_2546.jpg

New Orleans Gumbo - A rich, flavorful stew with chicken, andouille sausage and tasso ham, served with Cajun-style "dirty rice" (Chris had the gumbo)

100_2547.jpg

French Onion Soup - Sauteed sweet-onion medley in a traditional broth with melted Gruyere cheese. (Mom had the soup... she loved it)

100_2548.jpg

Three-Cheese Monte Cristo - Swiss, mozzarella and double creme Brie in a light batter, fried and served with berry puree ( I had the monte cristo... I love this sandwich!)

Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food!

Since discovering it on my June trip, I have decided the Cafe Orleans is a must do on every trip. The food is just too good to pass up!

I will post more later... I wish I could post more than 25 images at a time.

As always please leave lots of comments! I like attention!

PART 6 WILL BE COMING SHORTLY!

So exciting more TR and pics....yeah thank you and just as I thought I was going to have a hard time waiting any longer.
Once again great job:thumbsup2

So I have to say that I am loving your trip report. This is a little off topic. I noticed u were wearing converse shoes. I was just wondering how u could do all that walking and not have your feet killing u. I wear mine half a day and I can barely walk when I talk them off. I love the style of them but they r not the most comfortable.

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. I am trying to get the pics us as fast as possible, since I know I hate when a TR has long breaks in between updates.

I love my converse, but you are right... they are not the best for park touring. I generally wear them for about half a day to a full day, and then switch to my crocs. I find that by switching my shoes periodically throughout my trip my feet end up hurting less.

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. I might even have more up later tonight.

Hooray! I hopped on to check up on your TR and Parts 4 AND 5 were ready to go! Really enjoying it -- so many great pics! I LOVE the foggy one at the entrance in the morning. It reminded me of the Scooby Doo gang going to a foggy, deserted theme park to solve a mystery. ;)

A couple ?s...

What's the goat trick you mentioned?

Does River Belle Terrace have Mickey pancakes?

How cool that some of the CMs recognize and remember you!

Oh yeah - also liked the ones where you were having a bite in the candy corn patch. :) Clever!

OK, ready for Part 6! (Always a disappointment when you are enjoying a TR and all of the sudden it's over -- and not even finished. Glad you aren't going to leave us hanging for long!)

Well I have a couple answers for you...

The goat trick involves watching the goat on BTMRR as soon as you see it and keeping your eyes on it for as long as possible, whipping your head around. Doing this causes that sharp turn to feel a lot sharper. It is a lot of fun and a lot of people do it.

The River Bell Terrace was the first place to serve Mickey pancakes in the DLR. They are the originals that they have been making since the park opened.

Here is a pic of the ones you can get at the RBT. (I did not take this picture... I do not claim ownership. This picture was taken by SilentFeline another DISboard member)

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. I will have more up soon. Tomorrow definitely, if not tonight.

Great trip report! :thumbsup2
Especially enjoyed all the pictures!

You guys look like a really fun group :joker:

:ccat:

Loved seeing the HM Hidden Mickey, I will look for it when we return (in 2012). I need to get busy with my TR, maybe tomorrow.

Another great installment - the food at Cafe Orleans looks delicious! :)

That was such an awesome morning. We stood there and waited for them to open the gates at gate 13. Once they scanned our tickets we made a mad dash for space mountain. We walked on to the ride with only a minimal wait once we got into the loading area. The wait was no worse than a normal magic morning.

So with a Magic Morning you can go straight towards Space Mountain? I thought you could only go to Fantasyland and couldn't even go into Tomorrowland until regular opening?

On MM they have FL and TL open so the little ones and adults all have a little something to enjoy on a MM........I don't know how long it has been this way but I can say it has been this way since I can remember and I am 33 and have been going to DL since before I could realize I was at DL.
Hope this helps.

great trip report... u guyz look like u have a lot of fun

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. Chris and I do have a lot of fun in DLR together.

Thank you. I love Cafe Orleans, it is my favorite restaurant in DL proper. U think carnation cafe is a close second though! Those pics will be coming later.

Select attractions in tommorowland are open during MM. Space is always open, and is usually accompanied by Star Tours and Finding Nemo.

Stay tuned for part 6!

James thanks again for the great update !!

I know exactly what I'll be ordering at Cafe Orleans ;)

I have a feeling that after this trip report I will have gained 5 lbs. just looking at the pictures.

I'm hoping I can get my dd on ToT on our trip, she loved it the first time at WDW, but on our trip in June she wanted no part of it after one ride. BUT, she wanted to ride RnR over and over....go figure !!

I have a question for Chris: you said you are claustrophobic.... How was Nemo? I want to ride this so bad but I'm afraid I won't be able to relax enough to enjoy it.

This will be our first trip to DL so we are looking forward to all the cool things that WDW doesn't have. WE. CAN'T. WAIT !!!...67 more days :cool1:

Disneynerd, I'm really enjoying your TR! You look like a really fun guy to hang out with. I can relate to your frustrations with your mom, especially that night when you wanted to ride SMGG, because I've got one just like her.
Looking at your food porn pics is making me think that we should make more of an effort to eat in the parks. We usually eat before and just go, go, go, then eat after. Was that bacon cheeseburger decent? The last time we ate burgers in DL we were so grossed out that we never did it again. It reminded me of the cheap, junky burgers they serve in school lunches. :scared: Your burger actually looked like a burger as opposed to mystery meat. :lmao: Dis it taste good?
Can't wait for your next installment.

I'm not the OP, but I have a mild form of claustrophobia, so I thought I would respond to your query. I have ridden Nemo several times. The first time I admit I started to kinda get a little weirded out at first (not too bad, just a little), but since then I've forced myself to ride it and I've never had an issue after that first time. It was probably the deep, dark, not knowing what was going to happen, and the I'm a control freak who has to know what is going to happen, factor that freaked me out a little. I just try to find something else to focus on, like my camera, if I start getting nervous.

Thanks so much !! I really want to enjoy the ride, since it will only be my dd and I, there won't be anyone else to take her on it. Hopefully once I see her excitement I'll be okay ;)
