2 grown men playing in the jungle gym at Chuck E Cheese?

Think it was ok for these guys to be up there?

  • Sure.. they are just fun lovin' dads hanging out with their kids.

  • Nope, not acceptable.

  • Other?

I kinda wanted to say this on this page because it was the bottome post on the last page, and frequently people don't see that post. I was against it.....

Not just for the percerption of innappropraite behavior by the dads, but because it might worry the other kids. Maybe they would not like BIG PEOPLE up there with them - big people that they do not know.

I think it is great that Dads want to play with their kids, but do it at home or some other place where it is acceptable.

Would you let your toddler into a ball pit(and other) where grown men or jumping around?

actually it's 3rd from the bottom, not the last post :confused3

I think it's great that dads want to play with their kids. That is a good thing. but yes, I would be really carefully watching my child.

I voted for not acceptable.

If it were a private party and everyone knew everyone, then I wouldn't care.

But if it was a situation where it was open to the public, my girls would be very uncomfortable and nervous around 2 men they don't know. Plus, I would think it would be unsafe for these little kids to try and manuver in those tubes around 2 grown men.

For me it depends. If it's crowded that day, then nope, not acceptable. Let the kids be kids and don't crowd them. If it's not crowded, then knock yourself out. Sometimes kids just need their own space to be kids, so why do adults feel the need to butt in? :confused3

We used to have a very nice activity type center where we live, and the owners encouraged adult interaction, and the jungle gym thingy was top quality and could handle adult weight. I wouldn't necessarily trust the quality of it in other places.

Wow..I've gone in and played at the tubes at our fun center with my kids and so has DH.

It never occurred to us that it might bother other people. I always thought they didn't go in cuz they were too lazy!

I'll have to rethink going in again.

With their own kids, fine. With other kids, um.. no thanks.
Because kids know that they shouldn't talk to strangers, they may get scared and go out. Then, the'll have the rest of the rubes to themselves and that isn't fair.

Good! I wish more parents were aware of the dangers their children are exposed too.

There are more appropriate places to spend time with your children rather than a enclosed play area such as at CEC. Play areas should be monitored and have height/age restrictions.

Actually, at least at the CEC by my house, there is a big sign that says:

"Parents, feel free to take off your shoes and play in the tubes with your children!"

It never occurred to me that anyone would have a problem with this. :confused3 As long as the rules at the establishment allow adults then it should be fine. My DH has played with our DS up in the tunnels to a) keep an eye on him when he was younger and b) now because DS asks for his Dad to play with him.

If someone is uncomfortable with my DH playing with my DS when it is allowed by the establishment then I would have to land on the side of "that is their problem not mine" as bad as that sounds. I didn't like a few people smoking at the park we went to last night for a picnic. It was allowed so while it was "unacceptable" to me it was my problem not theirs. Same thing really....

I wish 1/2 this stuff happened in my life

Hey I have been there in the tube as a guide...not enjoyabale but you do what ya gotta do

I've seen parents go into those things occasionally. As long as they don't get stuck, I see nothing wrong with it.

Thanks PG! :lmao: I just got a big butt vs. tube visual!

Geeze, isn't it sad sick world when a dad can't just hang out and have fun with his kids because of the fear that people might think he's a perv. It's two dads at CEC playspace, it's not like they're sleeping with strangers kids a'la Michael Jackson!
If there are structural issues regarding weight limits, that's different and one would hope there would be a posted restriction.

I would take my child and pay elsewhere until they were out of the tubes. It is a very confined space and I odn't think a strange adult should be up there in a confined space that you can't see into when there are other peoples children in there. There are plenty of places and things to do with your own child alone, why invade the space of everyone elses kid.

And there is no chance that a teenager or pre-teen would do something inappropriate to another child in there?

Its not always the grown men.

If someone is that paranoid than don't take you child out where you may be exposed to things like that.

We used to have a place called Discovery zone and DH and I both crawled through all the tubes with ds... than again.. that was 13 years ago when I could fit :rotfl2:

ROTFLOL! :lmao:

Agreed. :teeth:

I don't see a problem with dad's wanting to play in the tubes with their kids. I just wonder if the tubes can support those guys.

Gosh, DH used to do this all the time when the kids were smaller and I never gave it a second thought. I did laugh at him when he'd wave from the little windows, but never imagined that anyone would think anything about it. Our CEC was also one with the signs welcoming parents to jump on in and play with the kids. As for the reaction of the other children, the ones that noticed him at all seemed to mostly giggle at the silly man playing in the tubes, the others just went on with their own playing.
