I'm not sure what board to post this on, so I'm gonna put it here and please redirect me if it should go somewhere else.
First question: I thought I read somewhere that you can link or add gift cards to your magic bands. Is that true or did I make that up. (Sometimes I like to make things up!)
Second question: If you can't link them to your magic band, Is there anyway/anyplace we can combine all the gift cards into one gift card? Or even 2 or 3 gift cards? I have a bunch of $25 disney gift cards that I have been purchasing here and there through my kids school scrip program. But it will be a little bit of a pain to carry 15-20 gift cards around. TIA

We charged our purchases to our magic band. Then every few days we went to the desk and paid it off using gift cards (this way you don't have to carry them around). Just note that depending upon the report you stay at, after a certain limit is reached on the bands (I think $1000 at moderates) they will charge your credit card.
There is a site to combine gift cards but I'm not sure what it is.

You can combine your gift cards on DisneyGiftCard .com, up to $1,000 per card. You can store up to five cards on the website at one time. Deleting a gift card from the website doesn't affect the balance that's on the card, it just removes it from being tracked on the website.

We too charge our purchases to our magic band and then pay it off every few days with gift cards. We leave the gift cards in the safe so we don't have to carry them around. We also store an empty gift card on the website in case something happens to our loaded gift card. That way we can quickly transfer the remaining balance over to the empty card before someone has a chance to use the funds.

Okay, first thing - You do not charge to your MB. You charge back to your room folio. There are plenty of offsite guests who purchase MBs but they cannot charge with them. The MB works like the old Key to the World card. It has your tickets, opens your door and allows you to make charges back to the room.

As others have pointed out, you can combine Disney GCs using the disneygiftcard.com website. You can combine up to $1K on the primary card by deleting the cards that have a zero balance after their funds are transferred to the primary card and then adding new cards. You can have up to 5 cards stored on the website at any given time. However, I delete them all from the account because I just don't trust Disney IT.

If you're staying onsite, you can use your MB to charge to your room and then go to the front desk or lobby concierge to pay down the balance with your GCs. Each resort level has a limit before they charge the CC you left on file (you can't do room charges unless you leave a CC or debit card on file). IIRC, the limit is $1500 at Value and Moderate Resorts and $2000 at Deluxe and DVC Resorts. The resort will charge your CC during the night if you have reached that limit or are close to it, so it's important to keep track of your spending and head to the lobby with your GCs when you think you're approaching your limit.

Just want to add that you can now track your room charges in the MDE app.
