2 Family Check-in Question

I have kind of a dumb question, but here goes:

We have two families, two rooms booked at the POFQ for our December trip. Is it OK if we go up to the front desk to check-in at the same time? The rooms are already paid for and neither of us are using the room keys to charge anything. We requested connecting rooms, so I wanted check in together so hopefully we can get those. We will be arriving late (probably around 8pm). Is this OK or is it bad hotel check-in manners??? I don't want to annoy anyone that is also waiting to check-in. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Are they on the same reservation?? If so, then absolutely check in at the same time. If not, I'm not sure what the protocol is.

We had 3 rooms and had one person check-in for all three. We had them all under the same name so that we could do that.
I don't think it is a problem to check-in together.

More important than that...I would call and confirm that the rooms have a door connecting them. Once we had two rooms that were "connecting" and they were just next to each other. It is worth the call to ask the question if they have a connecting door.

Those would be considered adjoining rooms rather than connecting.

I had 3 families with me this past vacation and we had the reservation under my name so I checked in and made sure that 2 rooms were connecting and the other was adjoining. We had no problems, its easier to have one person in charge when there is a large group and I would think that the front desk would prefer to deal with one person instead of many. I had no problem and we were down there for Frances and I had to keep checking in an out for the extra 3 days we had to stay. It shouldn't be a problem if one person made the arrangement.
