Folks,
This tidbit of info was passed along to me on Jan. 7 by a DVC CM at the DVC booth on Sunset Blvd. at DS -- SSR was rated by Conde Nast Traveller magazine as one of the best places to stay in the world.

I checked out the listings in the big-box-book-store today and found out the details (the ratings are in the American version of the magazine, the European version has a much more abridge Gold List.)

Three Disney resorts made the list -- Grand Floridian, Boardwalk Inn (including, I'm presuming BWV) and SSR. The ratings were within points of each other -- but SSR food was rated better than BW.

The real question here is how much Conde Nast stock does Disney Vacation Development own??

I was absolutely stunned about SSR being included when I got my magazine--that really makes me wonder about how they do their ratings. Not that SSR isn't nice, but given the additional amenities of some of the resorts attached to hotels, it would not have been my guess that SSR would be rated higher than many of the other resorts (especially given how new it is).

It looks like we let our subscription to Conde Nast expire too soon! We thought they spent too much space on places we just weren't ever going to go!

Bobbi :D

Wow, what a way to sell out a resort! Get it on the coveted Conde Nast list. While I love SSR, I can't imagine it's food rating higher than that of the Boardwalk's. Artist's Palette vs. all of the Boardwalk food choices?
That said, I'm happy my home away from home is highly regarded. :cheer2:

Congratulations to SSR!!

:cool1: :cool1:

Maybe they considered the Dining Options at DTD also and not just AP. SSR is connected to DTD on both ends of the resort.

I wonder if it has to do with location (so close to DTD's amenities and the golf course), the size of SSR, and the full service spa?

It's the nicest "family" hotel/resort I've ever stayed at, so I can see why it made the list...but if you take the "family" out of it then I am surprised it made the list...

Congrats on my home resort. . . . .and there probably goes my chances for an add-on later this year!!

I am so happy my home resort made this list!!!! :cool1:
I was a little surprised at first, being that it's so new, but I'm happy anyway!

Not sure how they managed to get my home resort on the list already but I like it!! Yeah SSR!!!

How many other Apartment Complexes made the list??

LOL- Yay for my home- Can't wait to go see how great it is!

Pretty low blow there liferbabe, especially since you own there! :guilty:
I'm quite happy that SSR made the list, looks good for those of us that can only own at one resort. I'm looking forward to my vacation there in December, I plan on being at pleasure island every night! :flower1:

We've not yet stayed at SSR, but I'm sure SSR is a fine resort, and well deserving of this recognition. Great PR for DVC too... Congrats SSR owners!

Maybe they are taking the proximity to DTD and all the dining options there. It is only a 5 minute walk technically. I know alot of Diser discount DTD's draw but I think it is a bigger pull than expected (at least on these boards).
