We are going on the middle dining plan so we will have to choose between an appetizer and dessert. Does everyone at the table have to choose the same one? Meaning do we all have to choose apps or dessert or can we each choose which we prefer?

I have 3 children and one is considered a a Disney adult. However she would much rather eat the kid fare while the 8 yo would rather have adult food. Does it really matter at a table service which gets the kid food or as long as I'm still ordering 4 adult meals and 2 kid meals?

There is no dining plan where you can choose between an appetizer and a dessert.

If you have the regular dining plan (1 TS, 1 QS, 1 Snack per night per person) at the TS restaurants it includes an entree, dessert and standard non-alcoholic beverage at lunch and dinner. There is no appetizer option on this plan and you cannot substitute an appetizer for a dessert.

If you have the Deluxe dining plan (3 Dining credits per night that can be used for TS or QS and 2 snacks per person per night), it includes an appetizer, entree, dessert and standard non-alcoholic beverage at lunch and dinner.

Your 8 year old can eat the adult meal and the older child can eat the kid's meal.

I don't know any dining plan that gives you a choice of appetizer or dessert. On the regular dining plan, you get entree, drink, and dessert. On the deluxe, you get appetizer, entree, drink, and dessert. No either or.

Thank you for the information. We usually go on Deluxe dining and this will be our first time going with the step down. We were at an Epiphany luncheon today and there was a Disney licensed travel agent who made the comment about liking deluxe because you don't have to choose between the two. Shame on me for not double checking myself and by going with her obviously wrong comment.

We will be keeping the plan but thanks for thinking of our bottom line. With the reservations we have made we will still be saving money. Not nearly as much in years past when we gratuity was included but still some. I'm married to a banker so spreadsheets with monetary totals are a part of our planning process

She may mean that on the deluxe plan you have the option to get both - not one or the other. You could always not order one of the courses if you don't want it, but you have the option of ordering them or not ordering them. On the regular plan there's no choice - dessert is covered, not appetizer.

On the deluxe, you may not have the option to get two appetizers and no dessert though.
