we were in wdw last week and tried many places. some were returns and some were new to us. 2 of the new ones were very disappointing to us. it was myself and my husband, no children. the first was Boma for breakfast. other than a couple of different dishes that could not be found elsewhere, this is your standard breakfast buffet. after all i had read about it, i was expecting something more. for the effort it took to get there, we had no car, we will not return anytime soon. might try dinner in december. the other disappointment was the storybook princess breakfast. i was really looking forward to this as we have done cindy's breakfast several times and enjoyed that one. this one was noisy, noisy, noisy! the children, mostly preschoolers, did not bother me. the food was okay, but nothing to write home about. however, the princesses were great. we had snow white, mary poppins, mulan and jasmine. might return in the future if i can talk my husband into to doing so! will post later some of the bright dining spots from the week.:p

Sorry to hear! I'd always heard such wonderful things about Boma at breakfast, but not sure I would have tried it without a car--you're a brave woman!

I'd love to hear about the hits though!

If boma was mostly a regular breakfast buffet, then they have made some unwelcome changes. Sorry to hear that. We have eaten at Boma for breakfast many times, dinner also. It is always wonderful.

I guess I better make some inquiries before we eat there again.

I agree with you about the breakfast at Boma. We did it a couple of years ago and were pretty underwhelmed. The Kenyan coffee *is* great, though!

Haven't tried the other breakfast, sorry to hear it wasn't all that spectacular. :(

While I enjoyed breakfast and would go again if I were staying there or if I were driving and stopped before an AK day, I think I would be rather disappointed too if I went to the trouble and time of taking a bus to get to it. It is a good buffet though I think...more like the breakfast buffets that were offered in the"old days" at the Top of the World and Papeete Bay Verandah.

Did you try the Frunch? I thought that was great!

I was also underwelmed at Bomas for breakfast in July. It was good, but not really as fantastic as I thought it would be. Our server was great and we had a nice table near the window, and the fruit juice was great. But even that couldn't make up for the same-old, same-old breakfast food. {shrug} I think my expectations were too high.

Thanks for posting your reviews.

I have dined at Boma 3 times - twice for dinner and once for breakfast. I loved the dinners , but thought that the breakfast was just OK. It may be because I am not a big breakfast eater, but I found the majority of the food to be the standard breakfast fare. I guess I just expected more, after really enjoying the variety at dinner.

I did really like the frunch and the press pot coffee, though!

Never been to the Princess breakfast at Epcot.

We are eating breakfast at Boma's in December - just curious what frunch is. Don't want to miss it.

Thanks!!!!

This just goes to show that so many folks have different tastes and experiences. I'm not much of a breakfast eater (just as soon wait for lunch!). However, Boma is something we never, ever miss. I absolutely love it for the variance in the typical breakfast fare. For example, they have two or three different types of grains for hot breakfast cereals. I love the quinoa and pap!! Also, they have an entire "pod" dedicated to African inspired dishes such as "boboti" and pork tenderloin with various sauces. I never even touch eggs and bacon when I have breakfast here. The fruit juice is also a treat!

I love BOMA! :)

The Boboti is wonderful and the cinammon rolls rock! :)

The PSB was okay....the food was not that good and the Akershus is not as magical as the castle.

frunch is a really yummy juice. be sure to try it!!

We didnt like it. It is Mango, Orange, Banana juice and it is WAY TOO sweet.

The press pot coffee however was GREAT.

Breakfast over all (at Boma) was good. And not a bad value, we ate there at least 4 times for breakfast (and once for dinner - yummy then too). My mother, daughter and I all really enjoyed the Quinoa (the best source of vegtable protien according to the signage at Boma). We *were* staying at AKL so it was convienent, but we really enjoyed filling up good for breakfast and skipping lunch (or having a light snack in the late afternoon). The days we didn't do Boma, I was starving by 11:30am.

As for the Princess Bfast, I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was pretty crummy and the variety stunk (we are a low glycemic eating kind of family so the potatos, muffins & pastries were a big waste on us). The only thing good that came of it was that my daughter (14 months) wasn't terrified of the princesses the way she was of the big "furry" characters.
