I have 8 dining credits and paying for California Grill and Garden View Tea Room Afternoon tea OOP. It's going to be just Mom and me and no kids or grandkids to look after, so here's what I have scheduled:

Breakfast - Kona Cafe

Lunch - Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Garden View Tea Room (OOP)

Dinner - Boma, Via Napoli, 'OHana, California Grill (OOP)

We love Ragland Road in Downtown & how about Tusker House for Breakfast?? Two of our favorites!! :thumbsup2

Why don't you use them at California Grill and save some of the OOP costs?

Assuming you have a reason to not use them @ CA Grill I'd recommend Flying Fish! Yum!

How long are you there? Are you looking for lunch or dinner?
I have enjoyed Jiko very much in the past and we also love HDDR for something totally different and loads of fun.
Enjoy

I'd try to hit Tonys Town Square if you like Lady and Tramp and Italian food. That place is just so sweet to me.

We just returned and dined at The Crystal Palace (in MK) for dinner. It is a buffet and the selections were quite good. Lots of salads and 5 different entrees. It is a character experience...Pooh and friends. Did not seem quite as crazy some of the other character meals. I also read that Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios has a good buffet too. We did not dine there. Have fun!

Thanks all. I think I got it all figured out. I am doing a split stay with our first day at a value and then transferring to a mod with free dining, so Cali Grill is our check in night and breakfast the following am is going to be OOP. So here is what I ended up with:

Breakfast: Kona Cafe (OOP)
Lunch: Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern
Dinner: Rose & Crown Dining, Boma, Via Napoli, Raglan Road, 'Ohana

I really wanted to choose so many more places too, but I guess I will just have to return to WDW and try them out.

I would love the character dining, but Mom specifically said she wasn't dining with a princess princess: ...:sad1: so I took that to mean that Tigger and Piglet and Eeyore were out too. Maybe on my next trip out I will get to book a character breakfast.

Why not skip the ADR and just find something to eat when and where you get hungry?

It's the way we always roll. I refuse to plan my day around when and where we will eat.

'cause the dining plan is free and if we utilize it then it does not cost us more OOP. And my DDP gives me 8 table credits and 8 quick service credits.

Planet Hollywood!! it so pays for itself!

HAHAHA!!!!!

I was just about to recommend Planet Hollywood as well. Planet Hollywood is one of those restaurants at WDW that usually get no love. It's a must for my family to have our first and last (sometimes more) TS meals here during each visit.

We just love Planet Hollywood!

Cheers! :thumbsup2
